Yes, I believe that is correct. The Variable Speed Midi Lathe Conversion Kit is available from Penn State Industries. I'd call them to make sure it'll work with your lathe. It appears that it will fit or mount on varicose lathes based on their description.
In the metric system, nothing is measured. That information in the listing is wrong.

After that, I took the light socket out of the. This lathe is extremely smooth in operation. For the price, it appears to be well made. Due to a couple of quality control issues, I gave it four stars. All of the screws in the variable speed enclosure's cover were stripped and had to be replaced with larger ones. There was one puzzle that took a long time to solve. It was impossible to use the work light. I double-checked all of the wiring connections and found them to be in good working order. After that, I removed the light socket from the mount and everything appeared to be in working order. No work has been found. Four tubular rivets connect the ceramic base to the rest of the piece. The neutral is riveted to the socket base by two people. The center contact is secured to the ceramic base by a single rivet, which should have had the line connected to it but didn't. Another rivet was attached to the ceramic base, but the line connecting it to the ceramic base was pointing in the wrong direction. The fact that everything appears normal when you look at it may catch you off guard. I soldered the line to the center contact river in the end. Light is a source of heat.
I've had it for nearly a year and haven't had a single issue that wasn't entirely my fault; I was a beginner, and this appeared to be the best value for money of all the mini lathes I considered. I bought it to use for turning resin projects, but I've found a variety of other uses for it since then! I'm so happy with it and PSI that I've spent more on accessories and tools than the lathe itself cost. Even though there is a learning curve, it is enjoyable! I must say that I am extremely pleased with my purchase and would gladly recommend it to a friend.
When I took everything apart, I discovered that the tool rack's screws were missing, and the bottom cover under the motor was broken. It seems like a waste to have to return this for screws and a plastic cover. br>br>UPDATEbr>I am changing my rating for this product after speaking with the seller, PSI, who was extremely helpful. They are delivering the missing components.
I wish I had the financial means to purchase the variable-rate mortgage. speed version (you can manually change speeds by shifting the belt position), but I'm very pleased with it. The quality is excellent for the price, and my only criticism is minor: The work light's flex shaft serves no purpose. It will not be able to support the weight of the light. Even if I knew that going in, I'd still buy this because you have to find a position where you can aim it at your work and hope for the best. Again, excellent value for money.
Overall, I like the lathe, but the light that comes with it is of poor quality, and it was loose and refused to tighten. I contacted PSI about it, but they were uninterested in assisting me and quickly referred me back to Amazon.
Extremely powerful and quick!! There aren't any that I dislike. It weighs 94 pounds to the pound. However, it is not intended to be picked up and moved frequently. The only thing I don't like about it is how flimsy the flexible light is, and how the tailstock doesn't always lock solidly. It doesn't matter if I check for sawdust on the locking cup and make sure it's clean. And I've tried both ways to adjust the cam lever assembly's lock nut, and it still slides. But I just check in on it now and then to make sure it's still stable. So far, there have been no issues. The motor is extremely powerful. If a gouge strikes a knot, it will snap the tool rest off. It's not for the faint of heart! In general, this lathe is fantastic! PSI should make midi metal lathes, in my opinion.
NOT IN NEW CONDITION: For a hundred dollars, I gave up a three-year warranty on a new machine in exchange for this LIKE NEW MACHINE. 00 less and comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. IT DOESN'T APPEAR TO BE NEW AT ALL. I can live with paint chips, but it has a smashed speed control knob, a broken bottom belt cover, a broken tool holder, a smashed tip on the live tail stock, a broken light switch, a missing 58 tube, a bent handle that won't pull out, and possibly an extra part that I can't figure out where it goes. I was expecting it to be in better shape, in LIKE NEW condition, or at a lower price, but it appears that it will be returned.
Lays arrived with minor cosmetic cracks in the plastic on the engine guard; I contacted the seller, and replacement parts were delivered within 48 hours; this is the best customer service I've ever experienced with woodworking equipment. br>br>The lathe was ready to use right away. I was able to turn my first bowl within a few hours of receiving it. I haven't had it long enough to write a full review, but I wanted to give it a quick thumbs up for the customer service!.
