My main use for this tailstock is when I am turning wood and I need to support the back of the job. While flattening the back of work pieces, I hit the tail stock a few times with carbide tips, and I have not yet observed any marring. This device makes it easy to hold the work piece steady whilst sinking into it. It should be noted, however, if you aren't careful, the project you are working on could easily be split.
We will see how long the bearings last on this thing after I've spun it for about 25 hours. It's comically large but it spins well nonetheless.
I needed a Live Center for a project. This fit and worked well. Delivered quickly and at a reasonable price.
It is well built and holds the woodwork piece centered on the lathe as needed.
Fits perfectly into an M2 socket and is of good quality. The tool had been on my wishlist for quite some time, and I am not sure why I had not seen it sooner.
Although the bearings are noisier than I would like, it is still working.
The quality of the product is outstanding.
