The first and foremost problem is that nothing on this lathe has been tightened properly, and nothing is square or centered when it is delivered. It is impossible to buy a new belt once your old one has worn out (it will). In order to make one of them work, I had to buy all new gears and a new belt. When you turn on this lathe for the first 20 hours, you'll spend your time adjusting, shimming, tightening, and so forth, only to find things back out of square or center immediately after. There is actually garbage in the tailstock, so I have to reinstall My goal is to center it every single time I use it (or move any other part of it). It should be replaced right away you can simply order a new one at the same time that you place your In my first five projects, I replaced the crappy plastic parts on the lathe itself, and most of them broke before I had replacements made. Today, I just finished a replacement part for this lathe that I have had set up for almost 9 months. For a 2 hour part build, I devote 1 hour and 15 minutes to In fighting the machine, 30 people were killed, including The part of the lathe I am working on is as big as the projects I have turned. I have made as many parts to fix it as I have turned pieces. As a whole, I can't see any reason to recommend this to anyone. Spend more money if you are looking for accuracy in any area. This machine will be a big challenge for a hobbyist like you.
All that said, I have turned a few parts on this machine In any case, I will already be purchasing another lathe.
One of the parts on my tool holder is broken, so it's weak near that area. Additionally, the tailstock taper does not match the one on the center, in such a way that the drill does not work correctly. The alignment of Chuck made turning parts difficult, so a steady rest would be ideal. But, I can turn parts without way too much trouble for about $700!.
contacted me and we made a plan to resolve the problem.
As I explained to them, I was very upset when the device failed within seconds. In its current state, the design will cause more problems if it is While it is true Mophorn is not the maker, there is little they can do about the situation either. It's nice to hear from you, Donna.
