In April of 2020, I purchased this lathe from Grizzly. This was why I chose it over the jet as it had a much larger swing and a motor with more power [8 amps]. Five is the number of the motor. It is false advertising to advertise 6 amps. What is the physics behind a lathe having a bent spindle? Is it possible for a lathe to come with a bent spindle from the factory? The quality of the product was not checked or controlled. In the end, I had to remind them after two weeks to send me a new spindle. The tail stock wheel needed to be changed. It is extremely difficult to turn the tail stock when drilling holes, and when backing it out, it needs to be pulled back. I made a large handle and still, it was very hard to back out despite the small wheel, like it was made for a kid. Put this lathe together and test it out if you buy it.
