Selected User Reviews For AIRCAT 6265 1.0 HP Composite Angle Die Grinder 18,000 RPM
This is the fourth AirCat 1hp grinder I've bought because they're so much better than the other brands I've used for so many years, from cheap to expensive. These four grinders have taken over the work of many of my other pieces— I like the Huskys, but they have a lot less power— so as those wear out, I'll replace them with AirCats, as I prefer them to any Jet, CH, HF, Chicago Pneumatic, Dewalt, Napa pro, or delivery truck item I've tried— all of which I've burned up over the last 20 years. They do, however, have a major issue. The trigger isn't made of feathers. Continuous engagement is exhausting. So I remove the red nubb above the trigger and use a length of 10 gauge steel to extend the trigger along the upper length of the body. It provides me with leverage that allows me to use the grinder for a full day's work (and I've worked on these awesome grinders for many, many days). Changing them up takes about 20 minutes. Then they're incredible. Jacob Dean is a metal sculptor.
Is it worthwhile to invest in this tool? When I bought this tool, I took a chance because no one I knew had one and there weren't many reviews online to back it up. I bought this tool a little more than two years ago, and it's been tossed around, dropped, stepped on, neglected, and abused to the point where it should be broken by now. I work in an automotive shop, and I can assure you that it still works as well as the day I bought it new. Because the tool is a little large, I recommend pairing it with a swivel adapter to get it into those hard-to-reach places. This thing is a beast, and I've never had it break down or stall on me. It's perfect for my needs, and I'm confident you'll enjoy it as well.
I work full-time and have a family. This thing is incredible. I'm a long-time metal fabricator. I didn't expect it to be quieter, lighter, or more powerful than it is. To give you an idea, stalling it with a 1" disc is extremely difficult. br>br>This, folks, is an excellent example of why we buy the good stuff.
I used air tool oil to keep the head greased. For my air lines, I use dessicant air driers. WHEN SOME OF MY 30 YEAR OLD AMERICAN MADE TOOLS ARE STILL WORKING, THERE IS NO EXCUSE!.
This grinder is fantastic. There is a lot of power. It has a pleasant feel to it in your hand.
In the hand, it's a powerful weapon that's also very comfortable.
It's a little bigger than a regular air grinder, but it has three times the power. I've had it for a few weeks and can't say enough good things about it.
