Questions & Answers

Can you tell me what size the fittings and hose are?

My hose has a greater than one-inch outside diameter (I just measured it). The number five. It is a very long hose, which I guess could be a positive, but I found that the narrow diameter and length of the hose made for poor airflow. It couldn't be used as a vacuum, since I had to put the hose end brush right on top of the dirt for it to pick up the dust. By switching to a 2, the hose was much more flexible. One of those collapsible hoses I have lying around fit fairly snugly over the 5 inch hose the vac came with. (It isn't a regular shopvac type hose, it is one of those collapsible ones. Rigid 2 is my rigid. There are some gaps in the fitting on the vac canister that a 5 inch hose would not fit through. There are a lot of very bulky connectors on the hose and on the vac canister that do not seal well and have a really There was a lot of suction, but I was not pleased with the design or with the quantity of it. It is going to be used mainly to connect to tools (for which it works well), but it isn't able to function as a general shopvac. This means I have to use the old rigid vac that I had hoped to replace with this.

Is there a main difference between this and DwV010 (the smaller In comparison to a regular wet/dry vac, how does this one compare?

There are two units of the larger dwv012 model that I have and they are wonderful. Featuring two hepa filters that can be adjusted for suction, a back pulse system that cleans the filter every 30 seconds, and no need to stop and clean the I'm not sure how small the unit is. It was necessary for me to have the big ones since I grind concrete a lot. I am very satisfied with them. There will never be a time when I use a shop vacuum again.

Do you know whether or not it's compatible with a DeWalt DW735X Planer right ?

It is important to think about the power requirements before you buy this vacuum and planer combo. If you intend to start and stop this combo by utilizing the onboard port, I would consider doing so. With a max draw of 11, this vacuum has a very long life expectancy. When in continuous operation, 6 amps are used (more when in It is also a 15 amp unit, but I have found that it only draws about 12 amps when planing. In other words, even if you have 20 amp circuit, the vac is probably going to trip the circuit breaker. Though, I find the onboard tool port to be very useful for lower-draw items like sanders. In the event that you are trying to plug into two different outlets on the same circuit, depending on the wiring of your house or shop, you may have the same problem.

This product works well for sawdust, which is what I bought it for
5/5

I use it as a dust suppression device to keep dust down on remodeling The wheels on this vacuum are excellent, and it rolls really well even on hard surfaces. You can use it to clean sawdust, surface grinding dust (silica), lead, asbestos and other potentially harmful materials, in addition to drywall and sawdust. On the back, you can put your foot on the black portion to tip the broom back to the wheel. I like the yellow handle on the front and the black part on the back. Especially when full, the suitcase is quite heavy, so it is useful to have wheels to help move it both up and down There were a lot of reviews saying the black hose marked the wall. No such thing has ever happened to me. Although I noticed at the time of unboxing the vacuum that the yellow plastic was marred by the hose which is stored inside it. Just mentioning it does not bother me in the least. One of the adapters is a screw-out part that can be used differently depending on how it's mounted. The Perform and Protect series does not include this feature yet, but it looks like it would be helpful if you need to connect to other tools. Performance and Protect tools are compatible with this extractor because they are the ones with the hose connection. You can identify the tool by its label. With the tools I presently use this attachment with, I have a variable speed orbital DWE6423K, a DWS780 miter saw, and Dewalt grinder with this attachment, the This vacuum works like a charm with the orbital! It is amazing how little dust is produced when working with discs with the 8 hole pattern. I just sanded down red oak in someone's living room and everything was dust-free. I was also very happy with the way it worked with our grinder and saw. So far, I have used a paper bag and a canvas bag (which came with it). The plastic has not yet been tested. The bags are both high quality, and they are both surprisingly thick. Canvas ones are much larger, so you can fill them up with a lot more before having to change them so I would definitely recommend buying them even though they are more expensive. Additionally, I have noticed quite a few reviews complaining about the vacuum losing suction, etc. Make sure that you use the bags to prevent the suction from losing! You should still use the bags even though the filter is self-cleaning. There is less cost involved with bags compared to filters, and you can always expect the best Although I do not like the lack of tool storage on the unit, I don't really mind it. Having so many attachments on a shop vac always seemed like a hassle to me. There is always a risk of them falling off and getting It's quite useful to be able to wrap up the hose and lock it firmly to itself so it doesn't fall off when laying it over the top of the vacuum. As a Prime member, I was able to get free shipping on this unit as it was $335 and I bought it on Amazon. The retail price for this device is $599, however it has increased by around $500 since it was released. The equipment is definitely nice but you should also add the Perform and Protect tools to it as well. Having to duct tape dust collection adapters and jerry rig them is so much better than using duct tape.

In my case, I filled it all the way through the rim with grinding dust and it still worked great
5/5

I'm so impressed! I was very happy with the purchase! Having used this vacuum, I do not notice any dust returning to the air after grinding on cement! I am a flooring contractor who grinds on cement and we use floor grinders to do so. It still worked like a champ after filling it all the way to the rim with grinding dust!.

I'm done cleaning filters! A replacement for my older shop vac, this product fits the bill
5/5

A rigid with claim 6 was given to me by a friend. It has a peak HP of five. While I used it and abused it for a few years, I eventually grew tired of cleaning the filter constantly. There is a Dewalt dust extractor that is 4x the price of a rigid shop vac, but the time and trouble you will save in cleaning the filter will make up for the huge price difference pretty quickly. Please note Suction A clean filter on a rigid vacuum will not affect the amount of air it pulls even though it has a larger hose and uses more amps. Keep in mind that the filter will get dirty very fast, and it will need to be cleaned. As compared to the Rigid dust extractor, the Dewalt DWV012 can pull larger items and more of it. Considering the fact that I am taking advantage of the vacuum at 9,300 feet of elevation, it will have a significant and detrimental effect upon its sucking power. As a result of the type of fan and aerodynamics of the vacuum, I suspect that there is less altitude-related noise. A rigid is more rigid than a flexible. The speculation, however, is just that. The noise is too loud My ear is ringing Dewalt's noise meter claims that it makes about half as much noise as Rigid's. As a result, the sound is more tolerable as it is distributed across a range of frequencies rather than being an intense ear-piercing roar as it is on the Rigid. The mobile environment As compared to the Rigid which is similar to dragging a pallet of bricks around, the Dewalt has nice, big wheels and rolls around fairly easily. In terms of emptying the waste, the Rigid performs better. In order to comply with OSHA guidelines, the Dewalt was designed to use disposable bags. The Dewalt dust extractor is cumbersome and messy to empty, when you try to lift it upside down to empty it. I purchased this for personal use and am not interested in dumping money into bags. I can empty the canister outside to avoid breathing in dust. With the rigid, this is less the case. There is no need to worry about this This is terrible. The conclusion is The Dewalt has so far been a great tool. It is my hope that I will never need to clean another shop vac filter.

You'll never want to use anything else! Perfect for a shop or garage! Vacuuming loose fill insulation out of a cavity that I was going to spray foam amazed me when the filters did not clog
5/5

In spite of the fact that the container was full of fiberglass loose fill, the vacuum kept on going and pulling it. This method worked so well that I found it difficult to comprehend. The last time my central vacuum failed, I used a relay to turn on the plug, then used some pipe and adapters to make a much better and cheaper The original is much harder to clean than this one!.

That's too bad
3/5

That's too bad. On the basis of the price and reviews for this purchase, I had high expectations. The game isn't bad at all. Seriously, you're limited to portable sanders and the like. I would recommend buying a shop vac and Dust Deputy. If you plan to suction something significant, do not waste time with this.

Dust is less prevalent that it was in the past, but there is still a considerable amount
3/5

The DEWALT Dust Extractor has many positive reviews, so before I purchased it, I read many reviews. As the included hose leaves black marks on everything it touches, I wrapped the hose since I am working in a room that is all high gloss white and didn't want to stain the room. It is a good suction, but it is When I use my DEWALT orbital sander, I see a lot of dust escape the suction system. You can easily move across the room with it as it rolls and follows you. It seems unlikely that a much cheaper Shop Vac would not perform as well as or even better than a much more expensive one. I downloaded the dewalt dust extractor from an online supplier, and it looks like it was used. There was dust inside the unit as well. The outside was scuffed and the inside was very dusty. Had I had two weeks longer on the project, I would have sent it back. However, I was in a real bind and had no choice but to use what was sent. It was not a cheap purchase, and I expected a brand new unit for the price.
