Questions & Answers

The 5 inch orbital sanders can be operated with this vacuum, right? Do you have dust collection systems? If so, how effective are they?

With the same connector, yes, it is usable in the newer models as well. With these, I have no dust to deal with when I use my small concrete grinder.

The machine works like a vacuum cleaner, but how is it different?

The machine IS a vacuum, and it is a very good vacuum. It meets requirements for lead based paint projects as required by the EPA with the filters it comes with. In addition to being a portable dust collection system, it's also a portable vacuum cleaner. When you have the right adapters for your miter saw or table saw's dust port, connecting the vacuum to a wall outlet and connecting the table saw to the vacuum's electrical outlet can be done. Once you have finished cutting a piece of wood, the vacuum kicks on and receives most of the sawdust. *br>Another great feature is when you run one filter while the other is running, the vacuum will backflush the first.

Can this unit be fitted with a 2 1/2 inch diameter hose? How do I find out if my 1 1/2" hose will become clogged when used to plan ?

The DeWalt 2 can be purchased from DeWalt. Part number DWV9314 is a 5 inch accessory hose.

What is the difference between a wet and dry vacuum cleaner?

It is true. "DWV012 10 GALLON WET/DRY HEPA/RRP DUST EXTRACTOR", is what DeWalt describes it as on its own website.

It's good but I'd like to qualify
3/5

My company, a construction firm who needs HEPA filtration, has purchased eight of these vacuums for use in our operations. Based on a laser particle counter, they were able to achieve filtration levels above HEPA. It is a very well designed vacuum with good filtration and a self-cleaning system. However, it leaves something to be desired in that department. There are very few accessories that will fit the hose that comes with this unit, so finding accessories is difficult. Currently, this item comes with a large hose and a small hose and is sold at Home Depot. One of my vacuums came with both hoses on Amazon, but the other seven came only with the small diameter one. Also priced at $299, this product is available at Home Depot. Home Depot seems to be an improved deal since the second hose is 2 1/2" in diameter and will fit standard.

A hose connection that is not industry standard
5/5

When reading the reviews before purchasing this, I was a bit frightened, but ultimately, I am glad this was worth the purchase. My current setup is a Dust Deputy mounted to an Eagle 20 gallon drum in conjunction with this vacuum. My dust deputy is powerful enough to make my drum lid cave in when i use it with the dust deputy attached. I am not sure what they have wrong with their vacuum because it has enough suction to make the lid of my drum cave in with the dust deputy attached. We are very satisfied with the suction as well as the automatic on/off feature of the tool plugin. It fits right in with my yellow tools, and it's nice and small. One of my only complaints with this vacuum is that its hose connection is nonstandard. As I tried to attach a standard hose to the dust deputy, I was unable to attach a hose clamp on the vacuum end because the outer threads formed a tight seal, preventing it from connecting. As it turns out, the hose adapter can be found There is a custom hose connection available on object N409729. I will have to make one for myself.

The purchase I made was a good choice
5/5

Work is going on to restore the wood work of a 110-year-old In two months, I stripped all the paint (it took a long time) and started sanding This was the first time I've ever sanded so much wood, and the little dust bags on the various sanders just weren't enough. The dust extractor was not in use during the 2 days I sanded. The fine saw dust on the floor was swept up with a small bucket. The saw dust was a problem for me even when I wore my 3M mask. My initial hesitation to purchase this was because I had seen earlier reviews. I was not sure whether it would do the job because it was so expensive. It ended up being the case that I bought it and I must say that I'm very pleased I found that the felt bag improved the collection more than I expected even with it. In fact, after I sand, after I sweep up there is just the smallest amount of saw dust. The room seems breathable all the time. It isn't too loud, but I still suggest wearing The pros are Firstly, enter 1. Portable and very easy to use. 3. Do not make too much noise. A vacuum cleaner that will capture 99% of dust. Firstly, enter 1. Using this model is challenging due to clumsy cable management.

A high level of dust collection and control
5/5

purchased this dust extractor so that I could finish the kitchen cabinets for my girlfriend. I was able to achieve what I wanted! The hose connected easily to my sander using an adapter bought from another merchant. As far as I could tell, fine dust did not escape from the machine. All dust but that which was not collected at the sander was left behind, but this was more of a problem with the sander rather than with Taking responsibility for one's actions I find that the cleaning function can be a bit distracting at first, as it sounds like the machine is gurgling, but after using it for a while, it no longer bothers me.

A stationary wood shop dust collector can perform almost as well as this one
5/5

The reason why people complain about the suction on this thing is unclear to me. With this system, I am lucky to still have reasonable dust collection without a 4" dust collector. The 12-inch sliding compound miter saw I use with this is a DeWalt 12" miter saw, a DeWalt table saw, and a Milwaukee 5 random orbital palm sander (requires a rubber fernco for connection). With a sander, you get the best suction There is only a small amount of dust that settles on the work surface, so there is no visible airborne dust, and my nostrils are clean at the end of the day, even without wearing It seems that the suction is adequate for use with the table saw and miter saw, although tool design and function prevent dust from being collected fully. It really performs like a powerful cyclone system, and I've worked in a professional shop with a cyclone system.
my only complaint is that you must plug a power tool into a dust collector to get automatic start to work. my vacuum and both of my DeWalt saws are rated at 15 amps each, so every time I plug the saw into the vacuum to use the auto start feature, I trip breakers. There are multiple outlets and breakers that I need to use to run the vacuum and the saw. Although there is a switch to manually turn on the vacuum, it would be nice if there was a remote control or something to control it, Lastly, I was very overwhelmed trying to figure out which adapters were needed to attach the vacuum to the tool. In order to help other people, here are the 2-digit codes An adapter for a 1-inch screw fits into a 2-inch screw To connect to my Milwaukee 5" random orbit sander, I used the 35mm angled adapter with a rubber fernco and the dust port on my table saw. The twist lock on the end of the vacuum hose fits right onto the dust port of my miter saw.

My research is complete
5/5

Resulted in a great result. number of reviews, so I had a reasonable expectation of how the product would perform. It is very efficient, allowing for very few dust to escape That day, the thinset was thick, and it was difficult to remove the tile easily. In the photos, you can see how well the bag held up and how easy it was to clean the unit. A paintbrush was used to gather the dust inside and the outside was hosed off afterward. I think it's well worth the money. It took me about two hours to do about 50 square feet. The bathroom is going to be torn out sometime next month, so it will take five hours. See if Am1- is available 15 foot hose was too much for the small room so we bought a 5 foot hose instead. It was a minor inconvenience, but it was quickly forgotten.

For small jobs, this is a good vacuum
5/5

My vacuum has only been in use for one month so far, but it has been performing well so far. The shop vacuum has more suction than their predecessor. Although louder than my bench sander or table saw, it is also louder than my shop vacuum. Although it does not suction quite enough to stop saw dust from coming out of the top of my Shop Fox table saw, there is enough to keep my garage from getting as dusty as it is the filters to see how clean the unit kept them and found that they had been kept relatively I heard the thumping of the self-assembly machine Getting used to the cleaning cycle takes some getting used to, however the unit does a good job on the whole. item I might request would be an adaptor to fit the inlets on my 2 1/4 inch mixers.
