The drill was giving me trouble. When I drilled into a piece of wood and then reversed the drill to extract the bit, the chuck would unscrew and come loose from the drill. It's not the end of the world if something goes wrong. After finding nothing useful on their website (FAQs were useless), I called Dewalt customer service. )br>br>After a long wait, someone finally answered and was extremely helpful. He mailed me a UPS shipping label, which I delivered to the Chicago service center. Then, nine days later, I receive an email from Dewalt advising me to take the drill to a service center. So they're telling me to send it to a service center 9 days after I've sent it to the SC and long after they've received it. It's brilliant. They're geniuses, these guys. They gave me a case, so I went to the website to fill it out and see how it was progressing. On the website, however, there is no place to submit a case. It's necessary for you to make a call. Which I did again, and after a 7-minute wait, an overworked but helpful support representative answered. He checked the status of my case and informed me that my repaired drill would be delivered to me in about two weeks. As a result, I'll be without my drill for at least a month!.
For the first week, it worked perfectly until I needed to recharge the batteries. The charger's light blinks twice before remaining solid, indicating that the battery is charged despite the fact that it isn't. On the actual battery, the LEDs indicated that it was completely depleted. This happens with both batteries, so I'm assuming the charger is the issue.
Because the Amazon reviews were positive and I had previous Dewalt experience, I ordered this one, which is the perfect size and weight. The issue is that it won't screw in a sheetrock screw more than a quarter of an inch without coming to a halt. I read about the shutoff feature in the manual, but that didn't help me turn in screws, so I pulled out my 9-year-old 14. The job was completed with a 4 volt Dewalt drill/driver. I hate to write a negative review, but it appears that I received a defective drill and had no choice but to return it.
In my shop, I do a lot of woodworking. no on- work on the job site I'm not in need of a 20v drill's maximum power. I've had a lot of success with 12 volt drills over the years. Two 2ah batteries are included in the DCD 701F2 Drill. These should be able to handle a significant amount of drilling. That should keep you going until the other battery charges. It's a light, well-balanced unit. 3/8" is the maximum size of the chuck. Bits larger than that are rarely used by me. When I'm ready, I'll switch to the plug-in mode. with a 1/2-pound monster chuck size of 1 inch.
This drill was purchased for household projects. I'm not sure it'd be useful for heavy work where a 20V drill would be more appropriate. However, it's fantastic for repairing a door, rehanging a cupboard door, drilling small diameter holes, and general housework. The small size is advantageous for that type of work. The new light that shines up from below is a significant upgrade. Other drills I have are essentially a swarm of beasts. This one is more suitable for light work. Add in the fact that I rarely push the drill to its limits, and I'm even more pleased with it.
My husband owns a lot of Dewalt drills, but none of them are "approved" for use by me. As a result, he bought me this one. It's a great little drill with a lot of strength. Two batteries, a charger, and a lovely canvas bag are included. When the batteries arrived, I was surprised to find that they were both fully charged. I haven't had the opportunity to use it yet, but I am confident that when I do, I will be well prepared. However, if new information becomes available, I will not hesitate to update my reviews.
This gift was extremely well received, as evidenced by the videos I have! I'm also excited about the arrival of my soon-to-be son. Because this is so my thing, law has moved on to tools. He's always admired my workshop, and I hope to be able to admire his one day. br>br>I can't speak for myself about my experience with this tool, but I can speak for my soon-to-be son-in-law. It has pleased the law! And he adores the add-ons I procured for it.
The batteries are not working because they arrived uncharged and no charge was received by any of the two. I decided to buy a battery to avoid wasting time recharging it because I've had bad experiences in the past when I've had to return something I bought on the internet.
