WEN 4227T 13-Amp 12-Speed Floor Standing Drill Press

It is only used on its slowest speed, because most of what I am using this machine for is steel or aluminum from 16 gauge up to 12 inches My only complaint is that the bolt slide grooves in the table are spaced differently than those on other drill presses I have owned, so I have to repurchase things like V-groove slots to fit these drill presses. The following tools are required blocks, vises, etc. Making suspension parts on my own requires me to use a carbide hole saw to create accurate holes so that bearing races or bushings can be pressed in perfectly. Drill press is great. My experience is that it works perfectly with metal at the slowest speed. The keyless chuck I bought is an aftermarket item. When putting this drill press together, there are a few things to keep in mind. For the table to be put on, you need to remove the gear. Get down on the ground and put your head down. The head should be raised about 24 to 30 inches using a car jack, and then you can try to stand it up on your own. If you need to put the head on the floor, you might want to consider a moving floor dolly. The tension release has a 3/4 inch diameter black pipe over it that you can use to switch speeds. It is not possible to pull the tension release lever hard enough. I like this drill press and think it is a good buy for the price. As a previous owner of the powermatic, it had been both too expensive and too heavy for me. I liked the table and it works well since it isn't bolted to I was able to solve any run out issues with the aftermarket chuck. I can change chucks in a few minutes if I need to. Chuck has run out issues, seems like the Morris taper shaft was not aligned properly when it was seated into the Chuck. The drill press is great for the price but I wish it had automatic belt adjustment. Manually adjusting the belts is not that difficult, but it is a little more complicated.
