At its lowest setting, the platform is 26 inches wide at its highest setting and 45 inches at its lowest setting from the top of the base to the chuck. This might be of some help.
do not have experience with the 4225, so I cannot comment on this machine's capabilities. The distance from the bottom of the chuck on my table to the base is around five feet if you move the table to one side.
Seven and a half inches in diameter
By switching the belt, the speed can be adjusted in one of two ways. Within that range, there is a lever for controlling speed. A direct LED readout is used to display RPM.

It has been almost two years now that I have owned this drill press, and it continues to serve me well. It is only used on its slowest speed, because most of what I am using this machine for is steel or aluminum from 16 gauge up to 12 inches My only complaint is that the bolt slide grooves in the table are spaced differently than those on other drill presses I have owned, so I have to repurchase things like V-groove slots to fit these drill presses. The following tools are required blocks, vises, etc. Making suspension parts on my own requires me to use a carbide hole saw to create accurate holes so that bearing races or bushings can be pressed in perfectly. A cart with casters was fabricated to make the press mobile and it works perfectly.
Drill press is great. My experience is that it works perfectly with metal at the slowest speed. The keyless chuck I bought is an aftermarket item. When putting this drill press together, there are a few things to keep in mind. For the table to be put on, you need to remove the gear. Get down on the ground and put your head down. The head should be raised about 24 to 30 inches using a car jack, and then you can try to stand it up on your own. If you need to put the head on the floor, you might want to consider a moving floor dolly. The tension release has a 3/4 inch diameter black pipe over it that you can use to switch speeds. It is not possible to pull the tension release lever hard enough. I like this drill press and think it is a good buy for the price. As a previous owner of the powermatic, it had been both too expensive and too heavy for me. I liked the table and it works well since it isn't bolted to I was able to solve any run out issues with the aftermarket chuck. I can change chucks in a few minutes if I need to. Chuck has run out issues, seems like the Morris taper shaft was not aligned properly when it was seated into the Chuck. Make sure you purchase the shaft and the chuck together when you purchase an aftermarket chuck A good alignment.
The box was very well packaged and the pallet was strapped directly to the heavy-duty box. Unloading was made possible via a lift gate on a special truck. The weight of the ship was more than 250 lbs. I am grateful for Prime (thank you). It was easy to remove the pieces in my basement shop I took them down one at a time. Everything fit and assembled easily. You will need another person to help lift the motor into place if you're installing it on a pole. Having operated the unit for a month now, the drilling and pressing assembly continues to function as planned. The only exception to this is that one of the alignment lasers has been A free replacement laser was sent to me as soon as I called the customer service 800 number. We had no problem replacing the dim laser with the replacement since we just had to remove the task light to gain access to the wires we had to cut, then connect the two wires on the new.
This is a very heavy duty product. I like the size of the There is no runout on my unit and it is very It is possible to change the speed of the belts by moving them This method allows me the option of a very low rotation speed, which is important to me. There was no difference between units with digital readout and the analog ones. You can even add a decent 2 axis vice to it and you've got a very nice shop addition.
The piece is too heavy to assemble on your own I did it on my own and it was tough. I had to wait quite a while for my back order, but the wait was worth it.
It's a fantastic product I would buy.
The drill press is great for the price but I wish it had automatic belt adjustment. Manually adjusting the belts is not that difficult, but it is a little more complicated.
DRINK PRESS WITH OUTSTANDING QUALITY.
