I was then asked where I lived, and he gave me the name and telephone number of a service center locally. This repair should be done by our service technician if you encounter this problem.

I bought this drill press from Jet because of a discounted price and the 5 inch travel of the spindle is really nice, and the reputation for quality of Jet's drill presses, so I was able to buy it for a discount. Although I had never used a Jet tool before, I am disappointed with how it performed so poorly. It took us a few days to return the first drill press, and the second one had several issues. As for the customer service experience, I kept my promise to myself that I would do my research before buying another Jet product.
After a lot of research, the Jet drill press was the most affordable and had the most features I was looking for for my woodshop. A powermatic would have been nice, but it would have cost quite a bit more. Designed for woodworking, the table on this press is large. Other types of materials can be drilled using the press, including metal, plastic, and wood. It has a LED light and a laser built in, both of which I like. What I was surprised about was how well the laser aligned with the drill bit. Jet drill presses aren't most lasers reviews are a joke, but most drill presses have lasers.
