Questions & Answers

Do you know if this will work with a Hornady Cam Lock Trimmer?

Exactly what was said in each thread? Besides the Lyman case trimmer and carbide cutters, I use a Dremel case trimmer. Make sure you don't damage your cutter because Hornady has great customer service. Just call them, and they'll take care of it.

How well will this thread on the Frankford Arsenal Platinum trimming ?

Due to the fact that I do not know the thread size of the Frankford trimmer, I cannot say for sure. It is likely, however, that Frankford will have the answer for you. This cutter would make a great addition to any In addition to having a much longer (almost endless) life, carbon dioxide cuts very cleanly and is easier to use than diamond. It is also important to deburr correctly Personally, I feel that the final touch to the cleaning is to use the wet method with stainless steel pins. By doing so, a "new" look is given to your cases, as well as a complete cleaning inside and out, As best as I can, I try to answer as completely as possible, so I apologize if I have overdone it. I wish you good luck in your endeavors Please take care of yourself! Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist with.

The question is whether it will trim or not. Is 223 reasonable?

The number of trimmed has increased by several thousand. The cutter has been used 223 times and has performed well so far. Make sure you're using the correct guide, and you should be good to go.

As my original cutting head had worn out, I purchased a pair of new standard cutting heads and trimmed over 1,000 cases of varying In spite of the new heads, I am still having problems removing the pilot after trimming each case. It is impossible to remove the pilot cleanly since some brass flattens and accumulates inside and outside the neck. I have to use great effort to remove the brass. Although I have used three new cutting heads, the problem has only become more difficult. No matter which of the numerous calibers I trimmed, it became a frustrating exercise to remove the pilot from the case each time I did it. ordered the carbide cutter in the hope it would make trimming less of a hassle. In the past few hours, I have trimmed roughly 100-30 pounds With the carbide, I have 30 W cases and I am extremely happy with the results. Compared to other cutters, this one does a very good job of cutting excess brass and does it with a minimal amount of effort I did not have any stuck pilots However, I'm extremely happy with the efficiency of the cutting head for this machine I haven't used it long enough to give it a 5-star rating. Try a carbide cutter if you hate trimming as much as I do, especially if you get stuck on pilots. For example, I compare it to using carbide sizing dies in place of the older steel ones and the attendant lubricating and cleaning of grimy,.

There were so many reasons why I should have purchased this long Has done a wonderful Just after trying it for the first time, I was wondering why I'd not bought one earlier
5/5

Many cartridges were trimmed by the original cutter head, but it gradually got dull to the point where it was grinding instead of cutting the edge. Sharpening it was not effective In addition, I usually do a good job of sharpening tools The result was none of the above. recommend that anyone with a Lyman case trimmer should consider buying this head instead of the cheaper replacement head. I believe the one that comes with the tool should be the one to use. Previously, I had read that some people complained about the blades being uneven, but mine were uniform I was not the only one. I was able to use it without any problems.

The money is well spent

The same has been said by others What made me wait so long to buy this is beyond me. Quietly, cleanly, and quickly cuts through wood. Larger rifle brass often squeaked when cut with the standard cutter. (1 338 Lapua, 45-72, The example above is a number 70 as well as others). Using the carbide cutter, I cut (50) 300 WM casings in about half the time it took me I would recommend it highly.

Despite being an expensive unit, it only takes a couple of minutes for the mandrel to come out after trimming 500 pieces. Additionally, the burrs that always occur inside and outside of the neck are very small, resulting in a more uniform outcome.

Cutting tool made from carbide by Lyman
5/5

It is difficult to compare this cutter to the stock hardened steel cutters because it is much harder and sharper. This is the perfect item to trim 1000 9mm luger brass down to 1mm less for 9mm Makarovs. This product comes in a case made of plastic.

I would not hesitate to recommend it

I believe that this is the best accessory I have ever purchased for my case trimmer. Since I bought the electric drill adapter, the pilot leaves fewer burrs, and it doesn't have to be taken out of the mouth of the case. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU USE THIS CUTTER AT A SLOW SPEED IF YOU HAVE THE DRILL ADAPTER I assure you that after a few case trimmings you'll not even notice it. WE WANT ANYTHING that will make life easier. WELL WORTH THE EXPENSE, EVEN THOUGH IT IS ABOUT AS EXPENSIVE AS THE DEAL.

It was excellent
5/5

It took force to cut with a worn steel cutter, which had dulled so much that it was requiring replacement. It is almost impossible to use force to cut clean spirals. Replacing the cutter head is a very easy process.

The cutter did not come with a set screw
3/5

Not all the way through the hole was threaded. The blade cuts fast. I asked RCBS for spare set screws and they sent them. In order to keep the pilot in the cutter, I had to place a #8 lead shot under the set screw. Not all the way through the hole was threaded. A set screw would not be able to lock the cutter pilot in place. I can put the lead shot under the screw without any problems.
