Although it will work, it is supposed to be used only for wires up to 22 gauge. The tool is excellent for cutting wrapping wires that are 24 gauge, 26 gauge, and 28 gauge very close to the core.
There is no clear answer to your question. It would be nice if the manufacturer stood behind the product. My guess is that it would be willing to replace them if they broke after the first use. Personal experience tells me that mine is not problematic.

As a full-time jewelry designer, my focus is on creating unique pieces. The Xcelite cutters I had for so many years finally failed, so I had to buy another one. Following all the positive reviews, I thought I should give these a try after being disappointed with an expensive Lindstrom cutter in the past. I was not disappointed with the cutter. This tool has ergonomic pads on its handles that make it really comfortable. I wish all my tools had this kind of A plus for me was the small handles, which made them easy to hold. The wire I usually work with is 18g to 20g and it cuts easily. After I wrap a bead in wire, I need to cut metal in precise shapes. With this blade, I get a clean cut. Due to the intense cut, pieces do fly (there are a lot more pieces). There is a blade protector at the end so it can be kept off the cutting surfaces when This pair should last me at least three.
Compared to other wire cutters you can find out there, these are much more expensive, but they are worth every penny! Tronex flush cutters, the second pair I've purchased. I remember that the first ones lasted a good five years, although a bit differently than those. These are very fine and can get into very tight corners, you just need to be careful not to abuse them and they will last. The nipper I'm using for ordinary cutting is a lesser quality, so I am coddling them a bit. These are really neat since there are intricate cuts on them. I'm glad I grabbed them because I already added some divits to another pair of them. If the tools need to be replaced, I would try different Tronex products. The fact that they were made in the USA is very appealing to me. In every way that I can, I support US businesses. You shouldn't be afraid to spend a lot on them.
This pair has been in my possession for about a week now, and they are great! Besides cutting smoothly and having comfortable grips, they are easy to use. These are great because they can fit into tight places because they are so small at the tips. It is definitely worth investing in a pair of these if you do a lot of wire wrapping. Those inferior nippers will never make me go back! They are very well worth the money and I am very pleased with them. Use them if you aren't going to use steel or memory wire!.
It was a little tough to decide whether I would keep them at first because they didn't seem to be as good as they are, but after the first time I used them, I was super impressed. When they're new, I'm not sure how long they'll stay sharp, but right out of the package they're sharper and can get into tiny spots that even the smallest/most narrow pointed/best and most expensive flush cutters (Xuron) couldn't. They also have fair pricing and are reliable, which is another reason I would highly recommend them. Their items have been ordered several times by me over the past several.
In the past week, my Firemountain Tronex pliers have broken. While I don't recall the model number, my first pair of scissors were very ergonomic and had a SUPER sharp edge that (That was dumb) I messed them up when I cut the steel crimp covers.
