So far, the 1/4" bit has been my only choice. A 1/2" battery drill was used to drill four holes through a 3/8" flat galvanized steel plate. I had no issues with the 1/4" drill bit.
They do, in fact,

Yes, there are a hundred of them! You will, however, end up with a lot of the same tools. The following items are included in this kit: Phillips P2br>12 - br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>br>b SL6/8br>10 square2br>10 T25br>br>In other words, you've got 55 of the same four tools (P2,SL6/8,SQ2,T25) LMAO! br>I mean, if you need a P2, give me a call because I have 23. bruh!.
"Impact ready" is prominently displayed on this kit. Except for the DRILL BITS, there is a flaw in this set: everything except the DRILL BITS is impact-ready. They're your standard old-fashioned bits. This set not only lacks a conversion bit, but it also consists of IMPACT READY DRILL BITS! I'm stumped as to why they'd include standard bits in this "impact ready" set, especially since they sell the set that's supposed to be included in this combo pack separately! I'm irritated and disappointed to say the least. The product description is completely deceptive. The only reason this gets any stars is because the parts that aren't WRONG are fantastic, and I can't say enough good things about them. What a load of nonsense.
Folks, this is Dewalt China craftsmanship at its finest. Although the drill bit is not necessarily from this set, all of the pieces in it are made in China. This set provided the flat head bit in my photo, which broke underhand torque midway through a screw tightening. The first time they were used, both of them broke. Purchase a different manufacturer.
A couple of drill bits, a ph1 and a ph2, were all I really needed. I was torn between getting exactly what I needed from Snapon and spending roughly the same amount on everything else. br>br>I've used a ph1 and a ph2 to drill about 30 screws. I've stripped the heads of a few screws, but the drivers appear to be in good condition. br>br>I've drilled a few hundred holes with one of the bits and it's still going strong. br>br>The magnetic driver extensions are nice and work well. br>br> br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product. br>I wish there was more variety (almost all of the bits are ph2, and I'd like to see more ph1's and ph3's)br>br>The nut drivers are incredibly shallow, rendering them nearly useless to me. If your bolt depth is only a few millimeters, it's time to replace it. If you're looking for the ideal match for your project, look no further than these nuts. You may be able to hire drivers. br>br>I've only used one of the Flex Torq drivers, and it was a huge letdown. I thought it was amazing technology, but after just one use, the head fell apart. I'll try something else from this collection, but I'm not expecting much.
The bits are of good quality and are Dewalt brand, but the packaging is incorrect; I received the correct number and type of bits, but the Tough Case is seven instead of eight bits across, resulting in some empty spots in the assortment (see photos). This isn't a big deal for me, but it was a nice surprise. Having to explain why some appear to be missing is inconvenient.
), but people, be careful what you buy! Gold ferrous drill bits are used in this project. They're impact bits, but according to DeWalt's website, they're designed for use on plastic. You'll need to purchase a separate set if you want a good wood or metal bit. As others have pointed out, this set contains a lot of screw heads (even within the same box - Instead of carrying them all, condense and have backup boxes), but this isn't necessarily a bad thing, especially if you use your tools frequently and in a variety of situations/angles/ways. Extras are good because I'm as hard on my tools as a hobbyist can be (unfortunately), and all the little things end up broken, loaned out (and never returned), or lost. This is a fantastic deal, and you can always put together a set to give to that friend who borrows your bits all the time.
The quality of the bits is on par with what you'd find at Lowes for most other bits, but at this price, I expect them to wear out quickly and need to be replaced as needed. They arrived in a small box, stacked one on top of the other. I also appreciate the fact that they are packaged in small, portable hard cases for easy transport.
Only one set is for making holes, and the rest are screwdriver heads. I don't own an impact drill, so the impact set (in the dark case) wasn't something I was looking for specifically. The set as a whole, on the other hand, is extremely valuable. It's convenient to have the bits in a small, portable case so you don't have to lug a large case around the house just to get some screw driver tips.
