It is not as magnetic nor as high quality as I would have expected. There is a very weak magnet attached to the slide, and the whole thing In this case, the name DeWalt should be removed since the product does not reflect the general quality of DeWalt tools or accessories.

In the past, I have used DeWalt driver guides and they have worked well for me. A double pack from Amazon seemed like a good idea to me. Short ones no longer allow the length of the sleeve to be extended over a screw, so they're not worth it for the application they were designed for. There was probably a point at which it became stuck closed after I used it on 200 screws. In regards to the longer one, it continues to work fine. I did try manually extending it by using vise grips and slowly rotating the shank, but that did not work. While removing the sleeve, I did not over tighten the vise grips so the sleeve would not be damaged if it retracts. However, the sleeve only spun while I was pulling it.

My, this sure makes it a lot easier for the screw to go into the It would have been nice to have known about this many years It is absolutely wonderful to have this tool to help me get the screws to go in perfectly straight when using scrap pallets to make different items such as furniture, workbench signs and other things of that nature.

This tool was purchased for the purpose of assembling a bookcase a year ago and it helped me a bit with It's not a matter of life and death for me Generally, I trust other people's work, but I do like to do things myself every now and then. The tool box I planned on getting was an excellent addition to my toolbox at the time I bought it. To guide me in driving in a 3 inch wood screw, I had to refer to this again in the recent past. I'm so lucky. In this case, the #10 head would not fit in the tube and I had to covert to the old way rather than use the tool.

If I understand this correctly, you only need a driving guide if the screw is quite A big head is found on most long screws. Is this book going to be useful to me on this particular occasion, or might it be useful to me on another occasion?

Besides, the plastic tubing looks little stronger than one used in disposable injectors*. Unlike my life, I have only need it twice a year, but I imagine it would have expired by now if I used it on a regular basis. What would you expect to happen if a steel screw were being turned in at a very fast spin rate and the only material they had was a thin clear plastic tube to stand against it? There will come a time when I will have a good use for that, but for now, I think it is a luxury that I should not have purchased with my $10.

This is a must have when driving screws it will hold the screw in place but will also protect your fingers from getting cut by the screw There's a shorter one for screws that are the most common lengths and a longer one for screws that are extremely long. As its protective jacket is clear, you can see how deep your screw is seated inside.
