It was my expectation that this would save me time. However, there are three major problems. 1) The set screws are drilled all the way through, making it difficult to screw the carrier into the screw. Setting the set screw is awkward with the allen wrench that comes with it since it goes all the way through 2) both set screws had fallen into the carrier, and because it was magnetized, it was extremely difficult to get them out. Additionally, one was dropped in my office and I still don't know where it is. There would be no way to find it on a job site. **TRENDY** 3) LASTLY I took this picture from the side where the drill goes into the carrier, and it appears that it is long and deep (L in The magnetic field makes it so that if you happen to stick a small driver bit in there accidentally as I did, it will fall all the way to the bottom, making it nearly impossible to remove. As a final effort, I went out to my shop and ground down a screw's phillips end so that it would fit onto the driver and to the bottom of the carrier after about 20 minutes of trying. In order to prevent it from becoming loose while in the carrier, I placed a drop of super glue on its phillips head. Once the screw was in the carrier, I placed it on the driver bit. As soon as the glue had dried for 30 minutes, I pulled it out forcefully with a few pulls. On this object, there is a fairly strong magnetic field. It would have been better if the design was more idiot proof (for me). Despite not having used it yet, I haven't given it a try. Once I update my review, I'll send an email to this address. So, I guess it's all ok now since I like a challenge. The problem, however,.
It's the second one I have purchased. The first was very There was an apparent lack of half of the components. Seeing as the replacement is new to me, I will not be able to speak to its durability among the items I have tested As far as craftsman's (which is a rebranded Dewalt brand) is concerned, it doesn't seem to be as durable as the Sears-Bradley brand. It was made in the same country as its predecessor , Craftsman. In the Sears Craftsman version, wearout parts are much harder to obtain and are harder to find The cost of obtaining is higher In comparison to the cost of replacement bits and blades for the old SBD kit, I can get this entire kit for less. I ordered two more barrels from SBD parts, so I can switch bits with the barrel and not change out the set of bits I have added it to my collection of tools and I also ordered two extra barrels for it. A screw. For those interested in the old version, it is still available from the manufacturers through Rockler, as well as similar.
The set has very useful bits, including a Phillips bit, so I was able to switch from a drill bit very easily. My first set of Phillips bits got stuck in one of the slots during transit because the magnet for one of the extenders had drawn it deep into one of the slots and I was unable to remove This replacement set was not as good as the original One of the extenders would not hold the Phillips bit - the bit kept rotating in the drill no matter how much I tightened the set set's concept is a good one, but you should know that it does not include Furthermore, the set is lightweight and won't be strong enough to support normal home applications, such as building raised garden beds or attaching components to fence.
I found this tool to be really useful. This set comes in handy almost every day when I am working with wood. In order not to have to switch drill bits so often, I wish it had more counter sinks. I recommend that Craftsman include a couple more flip and drill inserts so you can preset up your bits instead of changing them constantly. I think the product is great overall.
My favorite feature of this drill is the ability to drill a countersunk pilot hole and then drill a driver bit quickly and easily using the quick release. Since it's Craftsman, it's not super-high quality, but it's a decent value for the price. It makes it easier for me to work on these projects without having to keep two drills idle all the time.
With Craftsman, you're bound to get what you want. This makes it easier to place the screw and drill. All the most popular sizes in one place.
Suitable for use as a counter sink.
Thanks for the purchase I'm very satisfied with it This is an extremely useful tool that I would highly recommend.
