Questions & Answers

Could this be used with a 12-inch computer How does it differ from a miter saw with dual beveled edges?

In terms of its ability with a Bosch 12” dual bevel full sliding saw, as well as the Makita 12” dual bevel full sliding saw I currently have, I have no hesitation in recommending it. The rails on both of these saws are all the way back and there is enough room to move around. I have never encountered a dust collection system as good as this for a miter saw. What's the point? It is because you have an elaborate shroud shape with baffles that moves dust downward towards a 4" dust exhaust port. Additionally, you can use a second vacuum on the top/back of the saw while it is running.

For the light, I have not yet found a switch. How can I get this right?

The world does not revolve around you. A dusty environment did not allow us to find a switch we could rely on. In my case, I use a splitter attached to an extension cord, but I have to move my stand around. The power cord was tied up with wire ties by my brother, who attached a power strip to his monitor stand. Despite its sanitary appearance, it turned out nicely.

Would it be possible to have a vacuum ?

If there is a dust collector connected to the normal dust port, you can use it. To use the Makita Dust Box, I can be reached at 4175- It is a mini-computer similar to the iPhone 6 There is a cyclonic/vortex box that you can attach to the regular vacuum port on the saw that also works really well. There is an Amazon listing for it. The following are things to look A Makita 194175-based product The price of the 6 dust extracting box sets is just $54 for the models LS1013L, LS1016/L/LX, and LS1216L/LX. *br>In the instructions, it is also recommended that you attach a small angle attachment to the dust port of the saw so that the dust from that port shoots directly back into the shroud if you leave the dust port open. The whole thing works together well. Whenever I need to use a light, the 5000 LED solution from Rousseau is the best I have ever encountered. With a Makita 12" Dual Bevel Sliding Saw, which fits perfectly, and the 4" port at the bottom of the shroud with a more powerful dust collector, it is the perfect fit.

This would work with my Ridgid 12" sliding miter saw that is mounted to a bench. Would this work? When I use the saw for sharp sliding cuts, I never perform angle cut.?

When used with a saw that cuts at all angles, this dust collection bonnet will work well. With a Dewalt 12" I can easily take apart and reassemble furniture. For use with your 12" rigid, the bonnet is available. For your Dewalt, you'll have to enlarge the mounting brackets as I did with mine.

There are four design flaws that make this system unusable
3/5

2 stars because it is a big improvement over zero dust collection, but it is ultimately also very problematic in a number of ways so that it cannot be used. The first major flaw that is evident is that when the fabric surrounding the dust port opening is sucked into the hole, it completely closes, and the suction is lost. As far as dust collection goes, I have a 1HP dust collector which has more suction than a shop vacuum but is still weak compared to shop vacs so I'm not trying to blow it away with hurricane-force winds. My initial attempt involved pulling the fabric along the edge of the opening back inside and then using a circular bracket to clamp it against the plastic dust port, but the suction just caused the dust port to tilt to its side and suck in some other fabric, which significantly reduced the suction power. Additionally, there are many places in the fabric where the ends of the fabric are loose. Despite stretching out my hood as tight as I can, it still has many sagging parts (especially when you have a 4" hose attached to the dust port which causes the port to sag and cause the hood to deform). Since it is an awkward position for the dust port itself with the weight of the hose, the suction is tucked behind the saw rather than along its side or below it, which is the opposite of what should have gone on. However, even if I installed a custom attachment to the wall behind it to put the dust port in the desired position, the fabric would still have the pervasive sagging issue. As well as this, I feel I am doing something almost equivalent now. The third flaw is that it is not tall enough for my 12-inch saw, so no matter how narrow I attach the edges to raise the height (which causes the fabric to really sag further when it is not pulled taut), when in upright position it hits the top by several inches. In order to avoid colliding with the hood, I added evasive maneuvers at the beginning and end of each cut, down and forward or back and up. By moving the hood further up behind the saw, it collects a lot of dust, and the suction is now a great deal less efficient since the suction is further up front. The fourth flaw, however, can be corrected only by moving the hood further out. Circle design simultaneously allows for very little vertical clearance and adds a great deal of horizontal space, reducing the amount of suction concentrated in the space. Another thing that is minor but still stupid is that there is no extension cord for the lights. The plug is maybe six inches long at most, which is just not good. I have tried quite a few workarounds to these problems (which I won't bother to list since they didn't work well enough), but ultimately this just isn't even close to being a workable solution for managing the dust created by In addition to watching several tutorials on YouTube, I'm planning to build a custom sized (rigid) plywood box with a dust port drilled in There was no need to buy this product, it should take a few hours, cost a fraction of the price, and address all design issues I encountered. The size and size of the machine will be a lot smaller. In my shop, I barely need something portable that can be taken to a job site, but if I did, I don't think it would be too difficult to fabricate a plywood box with hinges and latches that can be taken anywhere.

A dust monster to be tamed
5/5

Rousseau's Lighted Dust Solution proved to be a perfect fit for my 12-inch sliding power miter saw. The machine captures 90% of the dust on the job site even if it is not attached to a vacuum system. When it is connected to my shop's central vacuum system it will be even more effective. It is absolutely worth the little extra expense to obtain the lighted version. In spite of this, a good site-based light is still necessary to cut through the pencil line. Your health is worth the investment.

There is MDF dust in this product
5/5

Having to dodge raindrops while going back and forth to my carport where my DeWalt 12" compound miter saw was set up tired me out. It was possible for me to set up the Rousseau hood while I was working in the room where I installed oak flooring, window and door trim, and base molding without a cloud of dust clouding the entire room. There was very fine dust coming from the molding, which was covered with MDF. The hood managed to contain it Most of the bigger particles, which could not float, fell straight down to the ground, where they were I am glad I opted for the lighted one, the LED lighting was well worth the extra cost. The vacuum adapter, which is listed as an also purchased item, does not fit the connection on the back of the hood, and this is neither Rousseau's fault nor is it the fault of Rousseau. The dimensions are the same as the Woodstock adapter, so I assumed it would plug in there as well. However, I am very happy with the hood other than that.

It has a great engineering and is easy to assemble
5/5

I would like to disagree with the negative reviews I read before purchasing this device. This dust collector is a superb solution for chop saw dust. Prior to working with the 5000L, I worked with a metal fabricator where we spent significantly more than its cost, and the use of the 5000L really does not even come close to what we spent with a metal fabricator. Possibly because I have owned a Rousseau portable bench for several years that makes my saw more practical to use, I found the setup to be very straightforward. In my opinion, I assembled the table in less than 20 minutes. The directions were very clear and easy to understand. It was well worth the price of the lights. The only thing I would suggest is a longer cord and switch. On my end, I just needed $5 to solve the problem. I bought this power strip again from Amazon for $1. 50. 10 years ago, I really wish the 500L had been available! As much as I would like to give it 10 stars, I can't. It would have been better for me to be aware of low rating owners before they dumped theirs.

The Miter Saw Dust Solution is way more innovative than any other product, and the company is fabulous at providing support for This is a very well-made unit, with a cone shape for a rounded appearance and a 4-inch dust port
5/5

I have never seen a better way to connect a bench, stand or hybrid with the connection system I have ever seen. Lights go nicely in the sewn-in attachment loops because the LED lights actually stick in there. Rather than just from the top, it gets the perfect amount of light due to the rounded shape. The miter saws I have are terrible for causing wood dust to fly everywhere. I have tried a number of methods. I want to take this opportunity to think outside The best. You can always reach Rousseau at any time of day, and they will answer the phone and help you maximize Which tool do you think compares best to Festool? One of the reasons that the Festool catches so much is because of the rubber boot it has right behind it. It usually touches the wood, which causes it to catch. However, on wider boards or miter joints, it still throws a lot of material around. It is possible for anyone to put this boot on a saw if they get the same or a similar idea and make it fit. It is still necessary, however, to protect yourself from miter saw blowback if you want to catch most anything the tool throws. The Rousseau 5000L is great. I also have the Rousseau 2950 Miter Saw Stand that comes with adjustable wings and inflatable tires and folds into a compact package. They have always been at the top of their class with this design and it works perfectly with the.

When you reconfigure it, it works very well
4/5

It would have been 5 stars if the instructions had been more specific on how it should be configured or if the device had come configured correctly from the factory. In order for the brackets to be installed, they must be installed inside As it comes from factory, it should NOT be mounted outside of the hood. As soon as it was setup correctly, the hood fit better and dust collection improved a great deal.
