Questions & Answers

What is the best way to set up and take down a large miter saw on this stand, which I bought last year and finding the best way to do so is a nightmare?

Prior to extending the legs, attach the saw. Once the stand is connected, open the two legs on one side, then lift it higher than necessary and pop the remaining legs out.

Is it true that this stand includes the two yellow clamp-on saw mounting brackets?

It appears that if you purchase the "stand" for 174, you will be able to use it. You'll only get 99 points. The saw isn't held in place by any brackets. A $28 surcharge is required. Brackets can be obtained by entering the number 00. That does not make sense to me. Why shouldn't the saw be held in place by brackets on the stand? It'd be the equivalent of purchasing a kitchen blender "stand" and then having to purchase the glass blender container separately. Weird.

Do the mounting brackets for the saw come with it?

The stand comes with the saw mounting brackets and work stops, which are simple to install on your saw. If you don't have long arms, attaching the saw to the stand will take some effort. However, once everything is in place, the stand is absolutely stunning.

Is the height of the work supports adjustable, allowing you to extend material beyond the stop for longer stock while keeping it level with the saw platform?

Yes, the supports extend outward and can be adjusted in height. The material prevents the support from flipping up or down without affecting its height.

This is something I should have purchased years ago
5/5

For years, I've used a miter saw on workbenches, shop floors, tailgates, plywood sheets on sawhorses, and other projects. I could never justify the cost of one of these DeWalt stands to myself. I'm kicking myself for not getting one sooner. br>br>Now that I have one, I'm kicking myself for not getting one sooner. br>br>The saw attaches to a pair of included, removable mounting brackets, which then snap onto the stand; most saws will fit, but non-DeWalt saws may require drilling an additional hole in each bracket. The brackets can be attached to most modern DeWalt miter saws according to the instructions. My saw is a DW703, and the mounting instructions mention it. br>br>Once the brackets are in place, one person can easily remove or attach the saw to the stand as needed (especially if it's a smaller 10" saw like mine). On the stand, one of the brackets fits into a metal locking bracket. This prevents the saw from moving from side to side, which is a nice feature, but the brackets are strong enough without it. However, there's nothing wrong with a little extra stability. br>br>Legs fold up and lock into place independently. When set up, the stand feels very solid, and the rubber feet keep the finished floor surfaces from being scratched. With the saw removed, the bottom handle makes it easy to carry the stand. Before moving the stand around, double-check that the material support struts are locked. The material holders can also be used as length stops. br>br> They're long enough for my needs. DeWalt specifies a ten-foot length of material, which appears to be accurate. Consider the following options if you plan on working with long pieces of material.

This is a great stand; I've had the larger 723 for years and have finally had enough of moving it from job to job
4/5

The 724, on the other hand, surprised me with its weight. I haven't weighed it, but it appears to be the same weight as the larger stand, despite being a couple of feet shorter. Overall, it's a tough, sturdy, and compact stand that I can recommend wholeheartedly. However, there is one significant improvement to be made. Wide supports, which cost about $40 and replace the small 6" ones that came with the stand, will save your sanity if you work with long floppy material like 16' lengths of door casing or baseboard that tend to slide off the smaller supports. Finally, in response to the reviewer who used aluminum angle to mount his Makita saw, I took the smaller ones and placed them in the main body of the stand as additional fixed support. I have the same saw, the ls1016, and it mounts to the brackets perfectly without any modifications.

If you're a do-it-yourselfer in need of a Miter Saw stand, you've come to the right place
5/5

Put an end to your search. I'm a do-it-yourselfer who enjoys working on projects around the house (unfortunately, my wife takes advantage of this fact ;)). I have a Dewalt 12" chop saw that I've always used with some horses and a piece of ply. Because I had some big projects coming up (engineered hardwood flooring installation, framing, and a lot of trim work), I decided to take the plunge on this one. There will be no regrets. This is something I really enjoy. DWX726 (Rolling stand) and DWX723 (Heavy duty) - I compared this model to them. Other brands were ruled out (I have a lot of Dewalt tools and they've never let me down, and the other manufacturers didn't really have anything that set them apart from Dewalt)br>br>- The model with the most weight; higher price, a bit of a wait - I didn't need the size, even though it was appealing. br>- Factors to consider when deciding on a rolling model; Space between uses is requiredbr>br>Compact Model pro'sbr>- This model has extensions that extend from the main bar and can handle much longer stock (very useful when cutting 10 foot pieces of trim or wood flooringbr>- It's not about the light - it's about the darkness. It's obvious that it's well-made and long-lasting.
- Legs fold up easily for storage and do not take up a lot of space when not in use (I keep mine hung on the garage wall). br>- On the main beam, my Dewalt DW715 chop saw easily snapped. Once locked in, it's very safe. br>- The platform is very stable because the legs are strong and have a wide spread.

The 12" Sliding Miter Saw is ideal for this project
5/5

I'm using this stand with a DWS780 (12" double bevel sliding saw), which is a fairly large saw, so I was a little worried about how it would balance on the stand. I set it up and did a few test cuts with the saw in various positions to see how it felt, and it turns out that this stand provides a very solid platform for my saw. The extendable supports are well aligned and can be adjusted to compensate for the slight sagging that occurs when fully extended. The supports are very sturdy and secure in place, but when extended, they aren't level with the saw. The stand folds flat for easy transportation and storage. Overall, I'm pleased with the size and quality of this stand; my only regret is that I didn't order it sooner. br>br>Included in the box is everything you'll need to attach a saw to this stand. br>br>Included in the package: br>br> The stand with extendable supports, saw to stand mounting brackets, mounting bolts, and the owner's manual, as shown.
