Although I am not certain if it will fit on a 705, I am inclined to believe that it will. The tool was broken and had to be replaced when we used it on the saw. If you would like to see photos of the front and back, please let me know. This not a curved clamshell, but a straight clamshell instead.

The answer is yes. The one I have is like a clam shell that wraps around the power switch, and it's two pieces. They are well suited to each other.

My only requirement was for the shell to be there. You can fix this yourself easily. In the handle, holders perfectly placed within the handle held the wires in place. The old screws are still in good condition. Keeping money in your pocket is a great thing!.
My Dewalt 705 compound miter saw was perfectly suited to the new handle. The installation process is simple. Now that the saw is functioning again, it can be used! Routing the wiring proved to be the only challenge. Make sure you pay attention to where you place the old handle when removing it.
The replacement tool for the DeWalt miter saw is identical to your old device, but I resent having to spend $35 to get plastic that's injection molded. I am glad that it fits, appears to be of good quality, and has allowed me to get my business going again.
In order to place an order, you need to know the model and In addition to the 705 saw, Dewalt made different types of it. Model and type numbers are listed below each other. The type 5 of mine was mine. Then, consider the design of the handle on your axe. Others have an off set shape while others have a rectangle shape. You can find type 5 handles on Amazon by taking a picture of the handle on the saw and comparing it with a photo on your tool. There is no such thing as a generic type 5. You will then be able to match the screw holes on the saw to the screw holes on these screws.
I am very pleased with the product, it works well after installing (I'm very happy with it) the installation process takes about an hour. The installation would have been easier with three hands, but I managed to do it It looks great and works.
I was able to use my 3rd Gen Dewalt chop saw without any modification.
It is an excellent fit and does not need to be modified. Please be sure to double check your saw's model number. It is possible to find a few similar options that are close matches. It is mandatory to take a pic of the switch wiring because you will have to undo the wire nuts to get the wires to run through the new handle.
The handle on my Dewalt chop saw is cracked so I had to fix it.
