The last time I installed it was a long time ago. Three sixteenths of an inch is about right, according to my best guess
The 1 1/2'' inch wide by 9 1/2'' inch diameter band saw wheel is applicable to this product. It is very important to measure the size of your band saw blades before purchasing.
Just measured my wheels, they are 9 and 7/16 in diameter. On YouTube, I saw a recommendation to take off the wheel and hold it in a vise, so I did that. I wish you the best of

The finish is inconsistent, and the tracking and vibration are poor. The product is made The tires are of poor quality. The recommendation is not to use this service. When looking back at the reviews, I see they are all from Orange tires and not even by this particular seller. I think like most online sites their computers will pick reviews from similar products and post them on many listings so you never know if this review is legitimate or not. Several areas of the tires were extremely slippery ranging from 5" long rough patches to extremely slippery shiny areas. The tires were not uniform in texture on the surface. An irregular rough area about 5 inches long is present on each tire, with the rest of the tire being The tire's finish does not have the same degree of consistency throughout, which caused a vibration on my saw. On a 14" Delta band saw, after struggling to install these, my blade was difficult to track and my saw was vibrating. I also did not find the urethane itself consistency as I used a caliper in various areas around the tire. The tires also came with some sort of pry bar for installation that I did not find useful. It is not a good idea to use A few photos were added to show how inconsistent these tires' surfaces are. It was causing the vibration as it hit the blade because of a 5" wide rough area. My next step will be to see what other tires are being made in the USA on Amazon.
The urethane tires had to be soaked in a warm bath for installation, as they do with most urethane tires. I had some boiling water sitting in my shop while I dropped the tires into it. I covered the pot and carried it to my shop. The first tire was installed after a few seconds, and the second was placed at 40 seconds after the first. After scooching the tires to make sure they were centered, everything cooled for a few minutes before installing a blade, setting the track, and re-assembling. During my testing, I found my blade to track smoothly, quietly, and straightest of all, flawlessly. As of yet, I am unable to speak authoritatively about durability, but, generally speaking, urethane tires last far longer than any other material. Nonetheless, we're enjoying what we're hearing so far.
can be a bit difficult to install, but once they are on, they stay on. My installation of the packages was made possible by the tool they provided. I don't know if I could have done it without it. Due to the difficulty of sliding the wheel off, I decided to leave the wheel on the bandsaw. My vice, which is mounted on my workbench, is mounted on a benchtop, so I submerged the sheets into boiling water for a few minutes, then stretched them by wrapping them around it. As soon as I pulled hard, they looked like they stretched a bit. In the first instance, I worked on the tire for about five minutes because it kept slipping, but I persisted. Getting the second one up and running took only about 3 minutes. Patiently wait for the right time to come. So far, I am very satisfied with them. The bandsaw that I use is an old Craftsman that my Dad used. About 1950 is when I believe it was made. There is no record that the tires have ever been replaced before, and hopefully I will never have to replace them.
The band was nice and tight and fits well into the groves of the saw. With the little tire iron they sent, it was no problem to stretch them. However, you actually need a second screw driver, so I used a large flat screw driver as well. It shouldn't slip or slide, nor should it be out of balance. After the old track has been removed, make sure you clean the new one well. I came up with a solution where I used a 3/4 wood chisel to remove all the old hardened rubber, then I smoothed it out with Emory paper.
It was easier to even the tire tension all around once it was on the wheel using a smooth, round screwdriver shaft that I warmed in hot water before installing the tires. One tip warm your tires in hot water before you try to install them. I used a bench vise and it worked really well for clamping the wheel to the work bench so that I could use both hands to work the band.
To install, you need a B****. This belt is made of high-quality materials and appears to be in good working order. On my classic craftsman band saw, they fit well. As hard as they are to install, they don't stretch as easily as rubber ones. It was even necessary to soak the shirts in hot water to soften them. To make the process go smoother, I found it useful to use Gorilla tape every 3 inches in order to act as extra hands and hold the tire on the wheel. I was able to do it much more easily once I started doing it that way.
The only tire on my Porter Cable bandsaw that had blown out was replaced, and it, however, is running a lot smoother than it ever has. My fear is that, if I replace the other, I won't be able to take a break from the saw since it will be so smooth. We had no issues completing installation on the new one in about 20 minutes.
It is easy to place the bands by hand, but it comes with a tool to install them. By using the round shaft of a screwdriver or a tool, press the edges. You do not need to boil it like others. I was able to use it with my Ryobi 9 inch. I mentioned that the wheels can be installed without removing them. have so far gotten a good grip on the blade and it all works well. There is no installation guide included so you need to watch videos elsewhere to figure out how to install it.
