Half an inch. When it comes to pattern cutting, this bit is the best. After each pass, I just put a few more bearings on it to cut a little deeper.
Because the bearing on these bits is exactly the same diameter as the cutter head, the bits will not be usable if the Vermont metal door hinge mortising template is oversized to allow for an oversized bearing. The bits should be perfect if the template is the same size as the cutout. I will add that I have never used them in this way, but I am aware that others have. A larger bearing can be substituted for the smaller one if you need an offset bearing to fit the template. Whiteside can easily remove the bearings and replace them with the larger bearings. As it turns out, I changed out the bearing when developing my first bit like this- The only way is to create an offset in reverse. As a result, my dealer has substituted a bearing of the same diameter as the cutter head for the bearing on my Freud bit, which only came with an offset bearing. My first time dealing with hinge mortising was some years ago before I became familiar with Whiteside. Good luck with your work. Craft, a renowned author
The bit will cut acrylic, but you will have to sand it or polish it afterwards to remove the lines and make the acrylic transparent. This acrylic chipload has a load of In many languages, 001 is a first number. Since you will have to go very slowly and you may have to consider multiple passes, you'll have to go extremely slowly. You can download my CNC manual from our eoasaw website under the technical section if you'd like to learn more about the Chipload formula. No matter what cutting situation you are in, the principles remain the same. Let us know if there is anything we can do to help. Thom, thanks for your comment

Due to the fact that it only removes 1/4 inch at a time, you will not get tear marks A very smooth edge is left on your work piece when you take it out. Then, using this to route the top 1/4 inch, you can remove your template and use the top routed "layer" as your template, and this eliminates the possibility of your template wearing out if you run a bearing repeatedly on it. ***** I have used this on my hand-held 1/4 shank Makita palm router without a hitch. It will get the job done if you go slowly. The little bit is a great buy for the price.
Three different depths of cut were purchased for the same bit The Whiteside models #3000, #3001, and #3004 are all available in English. *Note that they are not for heavy tasks, like (typically found at) Carpentery, but they have areas where furniture and cabinets can be created. As all of these bits are quite similar with interchangeable bearings, it makes it easy to work with them. In my experience, I have only worked with the smallest of these models, the #3000 model, and it has performed flawlessly even with bulky wood like ipe. It is to be expected that the other two bits will be of similar quality. I strongly recommend it.
The first time I used this was in Before the bearing disintegrated, it lasted for 5 hours. As a result, I had to put my project on hold until I could find It costs $8 for each and the bit itself costs as much as well. It has been mentioned in other reviews as well. CMT is probably the better bit to use next time. Look up "whiteside b9 bearing" on Google if you're looking for bearings.
As much as I wanted to like these bits, they didn't work for me. The company is not only located about 45 minutes from where I live, but it is also made in the USA. As much as I wanted good quality, I didn't get it. I used the bit for the first time fine. However, the second time I used it, the set screw apparently came out of the collar that holds the bearing, causing the bearing to run over one of my templates, resulting in a very expensive exotic wood guitar neck being ruined. It breaks my heart to be Of course the tiny set screw has also become lost, so the bit is equally worthless as the neck I built. That makes me so sad.
The Allen key required to adjust the bearing does not come with it, so I now must go get one. I want to make cuts using the template, but I do not have the Allen key necessary to do so. An Allen key that comes with the bit can't be that costly.
The price of this single bit was more than I paid for a whole set of cheap But I use this bit a great deal, and I am delighted with it. Since I seldom use the cheap bits, I do not have high expectations for them, even though I do occasionally use It is true, however, that they work. There is something extremely pleasing to look at and very satisfying to use about this bit. It doesn't chatter, nor does it slow down the wood cutting process.
The router bit itself works well, but when the set screw breaks off, it falls out and by the time you realize it's missing, if it hasn't been thrown off far away, it can be hard to find in the wreckage on the floor.
