So I purchased these blades because they were available in a variety of sizes. I needed a metal cutting blade for a project I'm working on, and I needed to cut 1/8 inch aluminum and make three smaller cuts, so I got these blades and mounted the metal cutting one on my Dremel grinder. The blade was in excellent working order. I devised a jig to ensure that the grinder glided smoothly across the aluminum's surface. The blade easily cut through the aluminum with no issues. It left a nice edge; all that was required was some 80 grit sandpaper to remove some small scraps of metal. I then repainted the aluminum in the same color, and it now looks as if it was never cut. If you need to cut or trim metal, the metal cutting blade included in this package is a must-have. The dremel has a great plunge cut function that worked great for my project, and these blades are great for making smaller, more precise cuts. It's nice to have such a small blade with such high accuracy. These blades will serve you well if you do woodworking or even metal fabrication on a regular basis, as I do.
The Dremel Ultrasaw has a mixed reaction from me. It's good for flush cuts under thresholds, but that's all it's good for. I'm irritated that the blade size is so unusual that there are no other options for blades. However, I needed to cut about 50 porcelain tiles for a backsplash project, and I used a jig and a squirt bottle to lubricate the blade, which cut them all and is ready for more. It was also capable of cutting square outlet openings with a plunge cutter. I couldn't be happier, and the blade appears to be in relatively good condition. Of course, I'd do it all over again. br>br>I was relieved to have some diamond t blades for my jig saw to clean up the plunge cuts, but the Dremel blade was the real winner.
I don't usually write reviews, but I feel compelled to offer some advice to those looking for tile cutters. I purchased the ultra saw as well as three of these diamond cutters in order to install a tile wall behind our fireplace. These tiles have the appearance of rock and are quite heavy. Because I'd had bad luck with other cutters that didn't last very long, I bought three. I returned two because I cut probably 30 tiles with just one, and this thing does not appear to slow down. In addition, it cuts quickly. br>I'll never rent a wet saw again. This is an excellent tool!.
We've been installing MincyMarble walls in over 180 bathrooms at a high-end hotel where I'm working. I picked up a dremel saw and paired it with this blade, and I'm much happier with the results than I was with a full-size Mikita saw and a diamond blade.
This thing is like butter when it comes to cutting ceramic tile. I bought the Dremel cutting tool and this blade for the sole purpose of cutting one tile to install a new floor vent, and it was well worth it! If you must cut an already installed tile, cut the outline first, then cut across the middle of the piece being removed, prying one side out with the other piece being removed (perhaps with a screwdriver) to preserve the existing tiles.
Buying a Dremel was one of the best decisions I ever made as a man. br>Made my life so much easier for a variety of projects around the house. br>I bought it solely for the purpose of purchasing it and did not use it for the first few months. However, this was an excellent buy. br>While these blades are more expensive than the competition, they are still less expensive on Amazon than at my local hardware store.
It sliced through the 5/16" porcelain floor tile installed with ease. I needed to cut a hole through installed tile for a vent pipe and managed to cut a nice straight line with only a few sparks. Allow the blade to do the cutting for you. Diamonds appear to be in perfect condition. I need to cut more installed tile in a visible location, and I'm not concerned about how it will appear now. The material is of good quality and will last for a long time.
Porcelain floor tiles were used to tile a bathroom. I used it for the most difficult cuts where a smaller blade was required, but it generates a lot of dust and particles - I had to wear a mask and use it outside. As a result, for 99% of the cuts, I used a wet tile saw. The diamond blade held up well.
