If you want, you can add some water cooling! These appeal to me. They're reasonably priced and last a long time, and they're made in the United States. They result in a thin, precise cut. I've discovered that I can run these for a little longer before they overheat, compared to other machines. If you want to make a simple water cooling station for your cutting tool, follow these instructions: A water bottle and some plumber's tape are all you'll need. Make a small hole in the water bottle with a needle. Push 3/8" vinyl tubing (the squishy kind) through the hole, wrap it in plumber's tape, and pull it tight. Obtain a tube clamp by following these steps: hanger wire to line up the tube with the bottle, and poof! Water cooling is a breeze. If you want to go even further, a small aquarium pump, tube that bends and holds position, pet water bottle with hanger, and a return for the spent water can be found. I made this out in the field, so I didn't have to worry about the first one returning. However, the time and effort spent on saved discs and smoke were well worth it!.
The advertised thickness is 1/16 of an inch, but the actual thickness is. 08" thick, which is significantly more than. 625 br> Now I need to go out and buy an electric cut-off grinder. Don't buy these if you already own an air-powered tool.
As advertised, there were no problems. The discs are of good quality, and the pack is reasonably priced. Because Proxxon is metric, I'm guessing the hole is slightly larger than 3/8 inch. To enlarge the holes, I'm using a Dremel 5/8" cone bur. It's not a big deal, but it's an additional step in the application process for me. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> Because the holes in the Proxxon are 10mm, some enlargement is required. In other news, Harbor Freight 3 inch disks have 10mm holes and can be used with both 3/8 inch and 10mm drill bits.
When it comes to cutting discs, you want the best so it doesn't break apart and cause you pain. This is a tough, long-lasting disc that holds up well, and I will be purchasing more of this product in the future.
The blades in this set performed as expected. For louver installation, I used to cut the hood off a car. I only needed one saw blade in the end. It was able to make a number of cuts while maintaining its performance. I used an Aircat inline pneumatic cutoff tool in conjunction with this. I am very pleased with my purchase and would recommend it to others.
It's a great value for the money, and having a few on hand is always a good idea. A BIG SURPRISE FROM THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
These cut-off wheels are mediocre at best. br>Use them on 18-gauge steel; they cut well but quickly wear out.
