How Our Score Is Calculated

Product Description

By entering your model number, you can make sure that this fits.
To provide more grinding material than standard flap discs, they're made of industrial-grade high-density premium zirconia.
The 40 grit flap disc has a coarser construction and is best for removing heavier stock.
Countours, edge and weld blending, and radius grinding are all possible with the Bevel Type 29 disc.
Vibrations are absorbed without smearing thanks to the resin fiber construction and fiberglass backing plate.
Each disc has a 4-1/2-inch diameter and a 7/8-inch arbor size, allowing it to be used with grinders that spin at up to 13,300 RPM.

Questions & Answers

What is their manufacturing location?

China

Is it compatible with a 4 1/2-inch Harbor Freight Trailmaster angle grinder?

These angle grinders can be used in a variety of situations. The grinding pad diameter is the same on both machines. You should be fine, in my opinion.

Are these suitable for preparing an old fiberglass surface for the installation of new glass? Which grit do you think is the best?

Because these are aggressive discs, they should be used for fiberglass sanding and prepping for major heavy repair. If the area to be sanded is smaller and of a thinner layer/wall, you should use a flat sanding disc rather than the flap disc. Start with a finer grit, such as 80 grit, and see what happens. Remember to wear a good breathing mask, gloves, and a single-use full-body jumpsuit to fully protect your face. Glass fibers are dangerous and pose a serious health risk if your airways aren't properly protected.

Are these discs capable of producing a smooth metal finish?

They leave a smooth finish but leave circular marks when I use them to deburr sharp edges on heavy steel plates. It isn't a gleaming surface.

For the price, it's a good deal, and it's suitable for use at home
4/5

I used to work for a hydraulic crane manufacturer, and I was responsible for purchasing the welder flap discs. We tried a lot of different types before settling on a very expensive brand, but this isn't that brand; based on my personal experience, I'd say they're somewhere in the middle. However, you can get a lot more of them for the same price as you would at a hardware store. This is the purchase for you if you want something that does the job and isn't too expensive. If you want the stuff that cuts the best and doesn't need to be changed very often, look for: Continue your search. br>br>I used it on concrete for my purposes (to clean up an edge a little). It rips these things apart as expected), and some wood (OSB, MDF, and a few standard 2x4s, but no plywood). Sorry! I also tried it on some metal, and while the flaps frayed a little, they still held up well. On wood, I think it looks great, and on metal, it looks fine. On concrete, I don't think you'll get much use out of it (at least not in my experience).

My Welding Class and I split a pack
5/5

I compared prices before buying, and my welding instructor recommended the Neiko brand, so I said I'd pick up a pack and share it with everyone, even though we only needed 1 or 2 discs each. This worked out well, and I now have a few extras at home to use. We've used them to smooth welds and edges of plasma-cut steel, and they've performed admirably. When compared to the products available at DIY / Welding Supply stores, the value for money is exceptional.

These are extremely long-lasting
5/5

Excellent craftsmanship. I've used a lot of flap discs, and these are by far the best! That is quite an accomplishment! I work in the automotive industry, where I do a lot of fabrication. These flap discs take welds down so quietly that they are 100% quieter than hard grinding wheels! After trying them out on a Jeep Magnum swap project with me, he now only buys these! We did a full magnum v8 swap with these and they LAST FOREVER. I'm still on the first flap disc after an 8 to TJ swap and truss kit! I can't say enough good things about these. Who knew a flap disc could make such an impression?.

I started on a particular job with two of the regular aluminum oxide DeWalt discs from the big-box store, and they lasted a long time
5/5

They were $4 or $5 each at the big box store. I had completely exhausted them both before completing the project, so I ordered these and returned to work. br>br>After completing the project, the three discs I used (60, 80, and 120 grit) were worn, but not worn out or used up like the aluminum oxide discs; they still had life. When you consider that they were less than half the price of buying them one-by-one, it's a win-win situation. At the big box, twosy is in full swing. It's a foregone conclusion. The product is excellent, and the price is also excellent.

These give me the appearance of a competent welder! I'm a beginner to intermediate welder at best, so I spend a lot of time grinding away at my inexperience to achieve the look of a single solid piece of steel rather than bumps, humps, and globs at the weld joint
5/5

These disks are cheap (which is good because I use them a lot) and do an excellent job of removing steel! I like how they screw onto the grinder rather than requiring the removal and replacement of the nut; it makes changing out disks a breeze because I don't have to remember where I put the allen wrench!.

They continue to go on and on
5/5

These are approximately 5-minutes long. The discs from Dewalt and Harbor Freight Tools are seven times longer. Cleaning up welds and smoothing out imperfections is a breeze with this tool.

Cutting material is being prepared to be blasted
3/5

They do a good job for the price. However, the backing material is extremely weak, and these abrasives splatter blue paper all over the place, lasting only a third as long as high-end brands. However, if you don't mind the issues, the value for money is acceptable; however, peel off the labe before using or it will eject at 10000 rpms. Roll cages are made out of this material.

Cutting action that is very aggressive
5/5

Use with a variable-speed grinder to get the most out of it. These do what they say, but be aware that the cutting action is very aggressive; we used them on some old polyurethane-covered stairs, and the abrasion was so high that controlling the depth of cut was difficult. the removal of the skin Next time, I'll try a much smaller grain size; alternatively, you'll need to use a variable-speed blender. To slow down the grinding process, use a speed grinder tool. reducing the amount of waste removed.
