I could see it being useful for shaping or smoothing out extremely rough wood. They remove a significant amount of material.
Yes, but not to the same extent as a wire wheel. Paint has a proclivity for clogging.
There will be no issues.

If you're looking for a box of flap wheel disks but don't want to spend $50, Is it worth it to spend 70 dollars on a German or American-made product? br>How much is a box of these for? $15? br> You get about an 8-square-inch area - 1 square foot of mild You'll need to apply a lot of pressure to carbon steel surface grinding (to bare welding prepped metal) per disk, and you'll only get maybe efficacy - Simply swap out the disk. They perform admirably. 45 seconds is a good amount of time. Then you'll need a new hard drive. br>(Standard Diablo disks only get me about 5-stars. ) E gets me a lower surface friction-free life with more material removal and greater ease of usebr>Pferd gets me a lower surface friction-free life with more material removal and greater ease of usebr> P- a faster spinning disk with an extremely high material removal rate, fewer passes and pressure requirements, and a P- u more disk lifebr>Both options cost exponentially more $)br>br>I purchased three high-end German disks for about the same price as this box. On non-essential job sites or projects in my home workshop, I frequently use these inexpensive disks. br>These are okay industry standard cheap consumables for non-essential items. For the cost of two high-end wheels, you get an entire box.
It is possible that you will not receive what you have paid for. Aluminum Oxide is clearly stated, and Zirconium flaps for Mild Steel/Stainless Steel have been received. br> About 15 seconds after starting to use each wheel, the label came flying off. br> I knew going in that I wasn't going to get a high-end flap wheel that was mind-blowing and vastly superior for the price, but I figured I could get some decent life out of a few of them. br> Nopebr>Especially since I had to use these on an aluminum project because I was sent the wrong kind. Anyone who has used steel discs knows that they immediately plug up and become useless when used on aluminum. br> Please improve quality control and ensure that orders are correct and the correct product is shipped out. You've just lost another potential long-term customer who regularly uses flap wheels.
True, you get a lot for your money, but if you'll be replacing them frequently, it's better to invest in a higher-quality brand name. I used to use Dewalt, and while they last a long time, you can put one of these in your hand brand new and see the excessive wear in less than three minutes. I'm definitely going back to the Dewalts once these are gone. Here's a shot of 16 gauge mild steel after 5 minutes of use.
These sanding/grinding wheels work well for me. I needed one for a project and was pleasantly surprised by the quality. I gave some to my son, who seemed to enjoy them as well.
The cost of a ten pack has increased by three dollars in the last six months. These might be the ones for you if you're looking for an OK performance. I'm not going to buy any more of them. They don't last as long as some of the others I've tried. I bought them before because of the price, but now that they've gone up in price and they're wearing out quickly, I'll have to switch to another brand.
These flap disks are extremely durable and perform exceptionally well. I'm still working on the first disk, and I've already sanded down about 50 welds and polished a farm implement in preparation for painting. This disk has a long way to go. I'm sure I'd go through a lot more grinding disks. This is a product that I wholeheartedly endorse.
These discs make quick work of finishing the surface for new paint when rebuilding a junkyard axle. I would purchase this item again.
There isn't a lot of metal removed. The benchmarks are much more favorable.
