THESE SHOULD BE DISCONTINUED BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT WORTH THE MONEY. MY MONEY MUST BE RETURNED!.
Hobby welders will find these useful. These discs simply do not last as a professional; I used three on my most recent project, and that was just for cleaning the metal and tidying up my cuts.
For the price, this is an excellent product. These disks have a long life and do an excellent job of eating through old paint, according to my experience. br>br>My only gripe is that I sanded deeper into the wood than I would have liked due to a user error rather than a defect in the product. I frequently pushed too far in my joy at having discovered a product that would work on this demon of a garage door. The important part of this story is that it was thanks to this product that I was finally able to send the demon-spawned paint on my garage door to the abyss. This came after a slew of other products, including strippers, sanders, heat guns, razor-sharp scraping tools, and other tools recommended for removing stubborn paint, had failed. I expected to be defeated and forced to remove and replace the wooden doors, but victory was mine. br>br>Excellent product for the price.
For my projects, this is ideal.
Scary! These aren't your average flap wheels; they're extremely thin and razor-sharp. br>It's dangerous to even try to run them. Add a few dollars to your budget! It has nothing to do with it.
Can you tell the difference between a 40 grit and a 60 grit disk? It appears to be a simple task until they're all piled on the bench and none of them have been labeled. It's easy to tell the difference between a 40, 60, and 120 grit, but the lines blur quickly; it would be simple to simply put a label on the back stating the grit, but the manufacturer failed to do so. Aside from that, they're fantastic.
For welding school, I bought a 40/60/80/120 stack. We don't get them because they don't supply them, but we desperately need them. Fabrication and Mig plate setup have been done this semester with a 60 pad. I think I used this pad for about half an hour total, and it's already half-used. They were all shrink wrapped in a single stack when they arrived in the mail, as shown in the photo. Every tenth pad had a small piece of paper on top that indicated the grit. There are no other indicators for grit that I'm aware of. I don't know if they're all 40 grit.
These are cost-effective and do the job well. Definitely superior to the extremely low-cost alternatives.
