Under the shrink wrap on the front of the top disc, there is a paper label that says type 27, which is a raised center hub. A stack of flat Type 1's was what I got. The model numbers on the discs don't even match the paper on the front. I'm not sure if these are Chinese knockoffs.
I'm making a frame for an awning out of 1x1x1x1x1x1x1x 5" square steel tubing is available at. Thickness is 093". The first disc I tried slowed halfway through my first cut and left melt lines along the cut, indicating that the disc was overheating and melting the steel rather than cutting it. I gave up on the Dewalt disc and replaced it with a disc from another brand that I had on my bench, which worked perfectly. Hundreds of cutting discs have been used on my projects, with the majority of them being purchased on sale at the hardware store. I'm not sure if I got a bad batch or if these are counterfeit, but I can't imagine Dewalt producing such a subpar product. I guess I'll use them as drink coasters.
gallon IBC tote, and they've done a fantastic job with it. When my first cut isn't perfect, I like that I can shave off pieces as thin as 1/32"; I'd like to see a better method for changing these wheels when one is worn down, but that's a minor annoyance about the system as a whole, not about the quality of this item. The wheels themselves are excellent, and I have yet to have one chip or fly apart on any of my recent or previous projects. These wheels are simple to recommend.
These are very effective. I've used them until they're only two or three inches wide by accident, and they've never caused me any problems. The abrasive media on some other brands I've used doesn't extend all the way to the center of the disc, but instead stops after about an inch. These, however, are not among them. There was a slight offset on the ones that arrived. They resembled a grinding disc rather than a perfectly flat cutoff wheel. Angle grinders are dangerous, and I prefer Dewalt discs to the off-brand ones. version of the brand.
Only DeWalt can cut blades off for the love of God. The other accessories aren't as important, but when a cut off blade blows up, it's a pain. This is the only time I insist on buying name brand items; when it comes to the angle grinder, I'll buy whatever cheap brand I can get my hands on. But one of these has never exploded in my experience. They shattered, chipped, and frayed around the edges. Only if you clearly abuse them. However, the fiberglass that runs through them prevents them from exploding on you, which will come in handy in an emergency.
I recently completed a shower tile project, and while I do have a wet saw for cutting large straight pieces of 12 x 24 travertine tile, this disc came in handy when I needed to shave a few mm off of a tile that was not square in a corner. If I was pushing it, I sprayed it with water, but overall, I'd keep one of these in my tile toolbox. DeWalt is one of my favorite brands, and this grinding disc is no exception.
For the past six months, I've been using the cutting wheel. br>I do a lot of hobby work and have done all of my cutting with this wheel up until now. br>It lasts a long time. br>Despite the fact that I recently purchased a 14" abrasive saw, I still prefer to use this cutting wheel. br>It is easier and faster to make small cuts.
For all-purpose use This wheel performs admirably in cut and grinding operations for its intended use. It will not, however, perform as well as a thinner cut. away from the steering wheel If all you want to do is cut and paste, this is the place to be. You should choose a specific cut-off point for your work. away from the steering wheel Choose this wheel if you only need a wheel for the majority of your projects.
