My husband is sanding and staining our deck, and this is what he has to say about it: "I experimented with a variety of flap discs from big box stores and Harbor Freight," says the author. These are thinner, but they had no effect on the life of our 25-year-old deck when it came to sanding. Before the sandpaper wore down, all of the discs I tried filled with old stain. Using a brass brush, I was able to breathe new life into them. The prices of the other discs I tried ranged between $4 and $9. These did the job and lasted just as long for a fraction of the price; I'm not sure how they would compare to grinding metal, but I would highly recommend them for sanding stained wood. I was able to save more than $50 in total.
Not particularly durable, but on the other hand, I put in a lot of effort and am used to Diablos, which are incredible. br>br>My main complaint is that a few of them are oddly sized, which caused the grinder to shake uncontrollably. You can even see it's a little wobbly. br>br>Other than that, if you're pinching pennies and using and abusing them, these aren't too bad.
So far, I've only used the 60 and 120 grit discs to grind two blades from old files, and they're still in excellent condition. Before these things wear out, my grinder might give up the ghost!.
To put it another way, if you're looking for a tip shelf, you've come to the right place. In this price range, you would not be looking. br>It's a great deal for the money. There hasn't been any difficulty for me. br>As for the Ryo I, I'm not sure why the gentleman needed to use a spacer; all of the grinders I've used have a flippable top nut for either narrow or wide discs, and they all screw flush.
5 bucks! I saw these on the internet and decided to try them! For a total of 17, there are 20 discs. that's . The price per disc is 89 cents. What the hell was I thinking? I haven't had the chance to use them for a long time, but based on how they feel, I am confident that they will meet or exceed my expectations.
Harbor Freight is a place where I do a lot of my shopping. Their $3 flap discs were something I was buying. Each one is worth $50. These last three tines are just as long and cost about a quarter of the price. What a fantastic bargain! They're fantastic. Do not be afraid to give them a shot. Simply take action.
When I tried to remove mill scale from mild steel with the 40 grit discs, I had a bad experience. They only lasted about two minutes before they stopped removing material. This is a product I would never recommend to a friend.
They should specify how many of each grit should be ordered per order.
