Questions & Answers
The thinner ones will cut faster and remove less material. They are, however, more delicate, and if you drop your grinder, it is almost certain to break.
These wheels are compatible with any 4-inch grinder. The arbor is 7/8" and the wheels are 1/2". The 7/8" arbor is compatible with many craftsman grinders, including the Model CMEG100, but you should double-check your model to be sure.

These give the impression of not being very good at cutting steel at first, but after 3 or 4 cuts of 5/16, minimal, they appear to open up and cut quite well. It's on par with, if not better than, other similar products I've tried. This is a must-read warning. They cut well, but due to wear, the blades throw shrapnel that is a little larger than usual. Because I haven't finished a new one yet, this is why I gave it three stars. Wearing safety glasses is required when using these cutting wheels. That, in my opinion, is a positive development. When it comes to that subject, we all become a little lax. So far, they've been pleasing to my eyes. There were no major snafus or outrages. The three stars are only for the wear and longevity, which I have no knowledge of. yet.
These cut off wheels are great for cutting thin steel or sheet metal, but anything thicker than 10 gauge or 1/8 of an inch runs the risk of shattering or breaking. I've seen some complaints on here about how bad they cut, but they're only 1/16 thick, so what do you expect? These are for sheet metal, not i beams or c channels. If you're cutting 3/16 or thicker material, you'll need a thicker cut off wheel; anything thicker than a 1/8 isn't a cut off wheel. Gluck.
Better than Harbor Freight or Northern Tool at a fraction of the cost.
This is an exceptional offer. They were a steal at that price, and they cut just as well as the more expensive cutting disks. I use them to cut just about any metal I'm working on at the time, and they're especially good at cutting thick wall 2 7/8" drill stem pipe, which is a lot less expensive than using my chop saw with a 14" cutting disk.
Obtain them if you wish to commit suicide. Even so, you might have a better chance of dying from a paper cut.
These were used during a restoration and worked perfectly. They were mostly used on 22 gauge metal.
Because these wheels don't lay for very long, they give you a lot of them. It is what it is, and there is nothing that can be done about it.
The 4. 5 . Cutting wheels in the size of 040 are a fantastic value. br>They are excellent at cutting through metal. br>I wish they were a little more long-lasting and durable. I would have given them a 5-star rating if they had lasted longer. br>Overall, their performance has piqued my interest.
