I enjoyed this product except for the tiny hole for the wire

Using this for speaker cables was a great idea. The majority of the time it worked fine. The only problem is the very small hole in the tip. It seems to me that you are correct It would be nearly impossible to even run the ground wire from the nomex cable through that hole. My method of getting the wire through was to drill a hole, and use a fiberglass fish to get it through.

I have used this auger three times and it always works as it should

Exactly as it should be. First, I had to get a dude strong enough to climb over the concrete wall 15 inches high. As a matter of fact, it worked perfectly for me and was not difficult to use. Auger I have used it three times with perfect results.
