I have found this to be very effective so far. This is actually what I use to install software on old game consoles The video jacks into this and they had previously used 1/2 inch forstner for this, which then had to be enlarged. I will now be able to get exactly what I need out of the old brittle plastic much more quickly without having to worry about damaging it. Although I have only used it twice so far, and so far it seems to be holding up fine. There is no indication as to how long it will last since it is designed for wood and not plastic.
For drilling 15/16" and 1 1/16" holes, I needed these sizes. I found out the drills are a little smaller in diameter than they were stamped to be. There are just a few metric ones, made in China and re-branded in United States They work as long as they are stamped, otherwise they are too small.
All the reviews I've seen say this is a good product. No rhyme or reason to it, maybe I got the dullest one, but I had to really work towards making it work. At the end of going through a 1/2" piece of maple, I noticed that it had begun to burn. I was able to accomplish my goal, but it wasn't easy.
This material was of good quality, clean cuts. This drill created a hole that was incredibly clean and sharp. There is a high likelihood of this happening This is quality, you can't go wrong There is a smooth finish on the ground surfaces and the flutes match in the center. The chuck is true when put in a draw collet on my milling machine. It is an excellent tool to add to my collection.
The device works great and I got it since I needed it.
A bit cuts a hole in a clean fashion. If you let the bit cut at its own speed, there will be little to no tearout at the mouth. There is not much slope at the bottom. Most bits are only available in 1/8th-inch steps, but these bits come in 16th-inch steps, which is much better than most major brands' 1/8th-inch steps. The bits I have chosen are satisfactory to me in general.
Wood can be drilled with ease with this drill. To play a board game with marbles, I used it to drill holes for them to sit in. It has a perfect marble size and has a super smooth surface.
