This Harbor Freight auger is of better quality and comes with a better warranty, worth an additional 120 dollars
4/5

There is still too much time to give a full review, but I can give some initial I have now purchased our third one-man auger, the first was from harbor freight, it performed for about 2 tanks of fuel, about 30 to 40 post holes, but after a year it started losing compression suddenly and then just ceased working. I believe the motor coil was burned up. There is no point in trying to fix something that is out of warranty. After the first five minutes, the second began. After returning it to Home Depot I discovered a defective transmission, it would not turn when placed on the ground, and the manufacturer I cannot recall was orange and similar in size to the earthquake. I found this auger to be noticeably more well made than the 2 prior ones I bought. In addition to the spring that is on the auger bit, the motor has plenty of power and takes less effort to start than the Harbor Freight auger. The auger bit can be driven well in soft or hard ground and the motor handles deep or shallow holes very easily. The system does not overheat or seize up under normal usage, which I would consider to be 10 to 20 minutes at a time, and restarting does not seem to be a problem. My daughter son's privacy fence will be built today, and although it has already dug 8 holes on its first day, it will have the chance to dig another 20 or so on the second day of construction. If compared to the Predator model, the earthquake is easier to start, easier to use, has a 501 ratio and requires fewer resources The fuel on board the boat is one It is important to note that the motor comes with a 5 year warranty, not 90 days as for the Predator. If you want to get the Earthquake, you have to pay 120 bucks.

It starts out easy and has a reasonable amount of power
5/5

One person can easily operate this earth auger, it's well built, easy to start, and easy to handle The throttle control (plastic lever) seems a little light-duty, but it has so far been reliable. The installation of The hole in the corner is 8" and the hole in the inline is 6". I really like how it works. When drilling through clay that is heavily packed, I have difficulty, but if I keep drilling, I can break through For the last few inches, I find that it is easier to just use a post hole digger since I am over 70. To make holes more plumb, it would be nice to have a bubble level on top. This is especially true when drilling on a slope, as slopes deceive you into believing that your drill hole is plumb. On top of the bubble level, I will try to glue it. In the meantime, I'm installing a cattle fence, so I'm going to use a 12" bit to dig. In this heavy clay, I anticipate that drilling with a 12" bit will be challenging as it will likely overload the power head using the 12" bit. I may begin drilling with an 8" bit and then take it down a size to 12" with a 12". There was too much resistance in the clay soil to use the extension.

The smoothness and pinpointed accuracy are excellent
5/5

As far as I am concerned, the auger worked perfectly. The only posts I needed to dig were 5 With the 18" extension, I was able to reach the floor. As expected, there were tree roots and a few holes had to be relocated, and the roots still had to be chopped with a spud bar. Despite the hard clay down below, the auger had the power to cut but had to bear down on it to do so. With regard to the other holes, the ground was very wet and it angered very easily. The bit had to be cleaned often so the ground wouldn't rot. It's really annoying that I almost got burned by the exhaust that I reached over the machine because there don't seem to be any Hopefully you know that I installed round fence posts that were 6" in diameter. My posts fit snugly, and I tamped stone dust on top of them for a very sturdy construction.
If I were going to drill a lot of holes at once, I would rent a larger machine, but for the occasional project this is great.

The best word has come to mind OH MY GOD! Having been around this long I am surprised that you have always been around! When I was 70 I moved from a knuckle cracker to a hand auger, which was a quantum leap and now is gas powered
5/5

The shoulders on my darn shoulders have been worn out dug thousands of post holes. These berries are what you see here. It takes a little bit of time to learn how to use it. In particular, it's about finding the right timing for the pullback. The Pope had no effect here. It's easy to figure out if you play around with it. I scrape the dirt out of the hole using my foot while digging to prevent it from falling back into the hole as it sprays the dirt on withdrawal. With my timing down, I can dig a 36" hole in 4 minutes if there are no rocks, but if I hit a layer of hard clay or silt, I pour a couple quarts of water in and let it soak over the next few days. I don't find it as taxing on the back as I expected, and it's a lot faster than what I used to do. A comparison of this machine's features versus other comparable machines led me to conclude that it provides.

That is the best it can do
5/5

As far as its job goes, it does a good job. In other words, it is an auger A rock or root will jerk you if you drill it. Our soil is hard clay, so you'll get a jerk from it. Using this machine is hard work even with a machine. Since I have back problems, I have to operate it with two people. It saves me a lot of time and effort. Without preparation for the sudden stop, it will take you for a wild ride and could even put you in harm's way. You can pull up the main shaft of dirt and start over if you are digging deep enough and it bogs. You know what we mean. It's also the second part of a 2-part series There is no way to wind a stroke engine so it will not foul the plug. There's no way I know what these people are doing that's causing them to have such problems. Maybe watch a video on how a free standing auger works before purchasing it? We have used ours quite a bit over the course of a long time.

Gingers of all sizes can get along

I'm just a tad ginger and I can take care of this myself. Although it gave me a great upper body workout, it was a really enjoyable experience.

This auger has been the saving grace for many men whose post holes were dug with the post hole digger
5/5

Rather than waste your time digging postholes, throw away that posthole My expectations were far exceeded and continue to be exceeded by this auger. I have found that it draws holes much faster and easier than I had expected for my application. Having encountered some pretty thick pig roots has even stopped it in its tracks, but did not harm it. I cannot think of an application and design that are better for the price. If you need an auger for medium-sized residential jobs, I highly recommend it.

Are there any limits to how much power this individual can handle? Thanks to this power head auger, I was able to do my work
5/5

It's simple to put together if you follow the instructions. The equipment can still be handled by individuals, It takes two people to dig a deep hole on hard ground. If the ground is hard, the auger will shake and the equipment will vibrate You may have trouble controlling yourself. Despite its shortcomings, this auger is still worth owning. I can count on it to be powerful and take care of my needs. There are a number of issues to address. The oil bottle contained within the package leaked after it was received. There was an oil leak inside the package area, but the operation was not affected. A crack in the seal of the oil bottle allowed it to leak all of its contents. It is recommended to check for leaks in the oil before accepting the.
