It is used as a back saver
They are absolutely the best 18 inch earth bits you've ever seen. The perfect size in both Leaving the root balls and buried them in a 10-inch hole, I placed some garden soil in the hole, then dropped in the plant to get the roots nice and deep. The plant grew strong roots and the root balls remained intact. With my cordless drill and these augers, I was able to punch 40 holes in less than 20 minutes. Since they measure 18 inches in length, they are a backsaver. I have back problems and, as I said, I was able to play 40 holes in less than 20 minutes. In less than an hour, I had forty tomato plants in the ground. It wasn't until I found these sets that I dreaded planting them. The size of the floor I purchased was 36 5 feet 1 inches. For 8 bucks and change, you can get a six pack. Once again, I drilled to the end of the blade, 9 inches, and pounded in the other 3 inches to ensure they are It was again very easy to fill all the holes. After the 3 inches were in, it took considerably more time to pound in the remaining 3 inches. The materials they are made of are extremely durable. My neighborhood has lots of rocks, and I also live in the Adirondacks, where they are a way of life. It won't clear away a 5-pounder, but it will push fist-sized ones over. I've seen a number of shafts that are much shorter than 18 inches and I think that is a true back saver. The extra length will really come in handy if you dislike crawling around on your knees. My back did, I know that for sure. I am 68 years old and I can pot up 40 tomato plants in one hour, so this is a game changer for me. As well as using the small one, I put 80 tomato fertilizer spikes in it. All it takes is to drill, plop, kick the dirt over, and it's It looks good out in the garden as well.

I am pro- Located in our back yard is clay soil With these Augers, I will be able to place stakes in the ground for our trees, as well as perform some other tasks around the yard
It is important to break up the soil before planting to increase its fertility. I did find that these things worked wonderfully in digging in and breaking up The larger of the two augers was used in that operation. it seemed that the augers did a great job for a short period of time, but within the day, the larger auger had broken its shaft and the smaller one had twisted its. Is it possible to design something that is going to survive some tough conditions and not use tougher metal that does not warp and bend in this way? I apologize, but a drill should be made from metal that is HARD and of GOOD QUALITY. If this is done, it would be like using a regular drill to drill into wood until the drill bit warps out after a day or two. I will do the same It is a great idea, but the quality is very poor. The only reason I gave it a 2 star rather than a 1 is because it worked.

It really speeds up the planting process
Drill augers that are great for drilling small holes. Planting in firm soil is made so easy with this tool. When enough torque is applied to these weapons, your wrist will be overpowered, so approach the ground with caution. When trying to break up my soil, I have found that short quick thrusts are most effective. It may not be the same soil and technique in your area.

I was surprised by the results
As a kid, I was reluctant to order a set of this, but my mom told me to order one recently It was such a relief to landscape her front flower bed and the bigger chunk was so useful! Almost any kind of soil will be able to be penetrated by it, except clay. We simply made a few holes next to each other if the hole needed to be bigger. You need to be careful if the soil is soft because the pests.

The soil must be loose for it to work
In hard soils, it does not drill down. Considering that vegetables have drip systems at root level, and that the stakes were going to be outside the tilled area, it is a quite hard soil. Not too hard but it is definitely not soft. Still, I can put my shovel into the ground for three more days There is a 4 inch border. A drill bit such as this would not drill down past If there was an edge to make it easier to cut into the earth, I would expect it to have one. In addition to using a 18V drill powered by batteries, I also tried a 110V Differences do not exist. It makes me wonder whether all of the other brands have the same issue or just this particular.

A power drill with lots of torque, more power than 18v cordless power tools, and/or softer soil is needed
In my case, I used 20v and I had trouble with the larger bit, but for the most part, I could use the smaller bits. It may have been better to use a corded drill? To make holes for fertilization I had to dig around all my trees, and using an extension cord would have been a chore. It's fair to say that any other brand of auger bit would have delivered.

The idea is solid and useful, but it lacks instructions
As part of my digging operations, I'm currently using a smaller bit to remove roots from a ruined 60-foot branch. I have no complaints so far after my dog killed most of the hedge (Dan's dog is a digger he killed it off most of the time) The product comes with no instructions. Make sure you exercise proper precautions and safety procedures when using them (use sturdy work gloves, eye protection, etc. ) A distracted user or a user who utilizes the computer while distracted could do serious damage to their computer. I have a small suggestion Clean the rice after use by wiping it off thoroughly and applying WD-40 Those tools will last a long time if they are oiled with WD40 or gun oil.
