Questions & Answers

What is included in this kit that isn't included in the standard kit ($99)? Is it necessary or useful to have those things? I'm trying to figure out which kit to get. Thanks. ?

I believe the screw pack and possibly the clamp are included. I have no idea. In all my years of tinkering, this is the coolest thing I've ever had. Making joints/joinery isn't something I'm particularly skilled at. However, this simplifies and speeds up the process; you'll need the extra screw packs that come with it because you'll go through a lot of screws quickly. I liked the clamp so much that I ordered a second one (though I miscalculated and didn't get one identical to the first). Both houses of Congress might be held together by these clamps. In the garage, I'm constructing my first work bench, attempting to use only the tools I already own, such as a power saw, drill, and router. This kit makes it incredibly easy to put together, and it looks pretty good (not furniture-grade, but I'm just experimenting). I'm a 5- believer in the stars It's been about three or four months since I've had it.

** NEVER MIND ** I can't seem to find a way to delete the question, but if anyone else is interested, I did some digging on the Kreg site last night and found a video of the "micro." Basically, yes, the larger set can do a 1/2", but the micro produces smaller holes, which is preferable with thinner stock. What was it about spen that made me dislike him...?

I do a lot of woodworking, and this jig set will help me get half way there. I haven't seen the "micro" version, but this jig set will save you a lot of time and make construction much easier and quicker. Just make sure to practice on scrap wood and don't rush your project, and use the correct screws for hard or soft wood, as well as the correct depth for the wood you're working with. Above all, have a good time and enjoy yourself.

Taking small steps - What jig should I use for medium-sized DIY projects? The Kreg R3 Jr. is a good example of this. or ?

It all depends on the type of project you're working on. My kreg jig, to be honest, has left me a little disappointed. It works well with 1x dimensional lumber, but not with 2x or 2x to 2x. If you went smaller than 1x, I'm guessing the joints would lose a lot of strength. br>The master system has a few extra features, such as the clamp, but you could save some money and use another system instead.

Is this something that can be used with particle board?

It can pierce through any material and drill a hole in it. It's unlikely to be made of metal or brick: )br>Depending on the stress on the joint, pocket holes in particle board might not be the best option. It will, however, drill the hole, which you can then tighten with a screw.

Overpriced and overhyped, to say the least
3/5

It's not worth the trouble. The jig itself is fine, but the square drive bit is a shambles, and it began to strip after only five minutes. 6 screws, as well as their proprietary screws (yes, I made sure I was square while using it). The clamp is of low quality. The drill bit is the only component made in the United States. For the price, it's complete garbage; it should only cost half of what it does now.

JUST CLICK THE "PURCHASE" BUTTON TO GET THIS GREAT PRODUCT
5/5

I'm one of those guys who has a million different tools and has had people break my stones over it, but I have to say, this little weapon really impressed me. It's simple to use, light in weight, and precise, and it creates a nice clean sharp joint. I used it primarily for shelves in a new shed and was once again blown away. There was not a single joint that split on me, as you might expect from a "T" style app. where you screw in at a 45 degree angle We've all done it, gone a little too far and "cracked. " With this type of joint, you won't get that. If you're even thinking about buying this, please do yourself a favor and click the buy button. It's worth the extra money you put out once, just like any other good weapon in your arsenal, and believe me when I say you'll be happy. Thank you for a fantastic product.

|| How do I build 2x4 wood shelving? |ΞΞΞ|

Do you want to build some wooden shelves? I know it seems like it's taking an eternity to complete - You know who tells you about it on a daily basis! This Kreg jig system, on the other hand, is a lifesaver! Take your time the first time you use the jig to make sure everything is set up correctly for the project you're working on - Shelving is tedious, and having the jig set up on a table or workbench makes it much easier! You'll fly right through the joints, and everything will fall into place. Make sure to get a box of Kreg screws - they're essential. ensures that the wood joints are rock solid and that everything is securely fastened. - br>br>- br>br>- br>br>- br Pros- br>Good qualitybr>Comes with everything you need for a strongbr>Clamp is very usefulbr>Portable usebr>br>- Cons- br>Client service has taken a turn for the worse! I've been a long-time Kreg customer, and when I called to inquire about purchasing a hard storage case, the person who answered was extremely rude - He hung up after telling me to buy it online! Overall, Kreg has always made some of the best woodworking tools on the market. When I called to inquire about obtaining a storage case for my kit, I was disappointed - I got off the phone with a guy who said I could buy it online. Really? I docked them a star for their poor customer service, despite the fact that the K4 Jig system is fantastic! The way it connects 2x4s and how sturdy the shelves are have both impressed me. I think it's a great product, but I'm hoping they can improve their customer service.

I bought this for my bathroom remodel project because I don't have all of the high-end equipment needed to build the best cabinets, and I've been meaning to write a review for a while now
5/5

Because I don't have all of the high-end equipment needed to build cabinets properly, I bought this for my bathroom remodel project. That said, it worked great for me, and I'm glad I bought it for the job. br>I'll point out that when joining two flat pieces together, you'll have to be extra cautious. Another reviewer mentioned how the screws tend to pull the two pieces together in one direction (the side you're screwing from), causing the finished board to bow. I used several clamps to clamp both boards to the work bench before starting to set the screws. I was very pleased with the results once I figured that out. This is a DIY that I would recommend for people with a skill level of 2 to 7. Anyone with a higher IQ than a 7 should be able to avoid using this kind of gear in the first place. br>Here's a picture of how my bathroom renovation is progressing.

Handle for clamping My company specializes in cabinetry
4/5

I own a Kreig pocket hole tool for the second time. The first, which is over ten years old, still works perfectly. The second I purchased because it was on sale, and it eliminates the need to wait for pocket hole drilling. The clamp handle on the older one is on the front of the tool, as you can see in the photos. It's fantastic, drill- unclamp- Drill a new hole in the piece. Now look at the back of the tool and notice the new one with the clamp handle. This was not designed by someone who works in the cabinet industry. You can see what I'm referring to in the center image. You can't get to the handle when drilling a cabinet side. What's ironic is that I learned how to build cabinets from the Krieg manual that came with my first one. While this may not be a problem for most home woodworkers, it becomes apparent when working on larger pieces. Still, it's a useful tool that I'll mostly use for face frames. I will say that the Kreig pilot bits are far sharper than aftermarket bits, and they are well worth the extra money.

It is effective
4/5

As an at- This jig is a lifesaver for home woodworkers who don't have access to many of the larger, more expensive tools. Sure, some purists despise pocket holes, and they may be frowned upon, but pocket holes are one of the simplest ways to create joints. Because I don't have the tools or space to own jigs for making dovetails or other fancy joints, this will suffice. The pocket holes are sturdy and simple to create. This jig kit, on the other hand, is fantastic. Yes, it has some carelessness built into it, such as metal shavings still in tact, but it has been proven to work in the long run. I'm sure that as I get better at it and gain more experience, I'll be able to get away with using less expensive pocket hole jigs that aren't as beginner friendly as this one, but for now, it's fantastic. br>br>For over $100, it's a bummer that Kreg's jigs are made of plastic, because it'll obviously not last as long and will need to be replaced sooner or later. I'm hoping that when I replace them, I'll be able to get a cheaper jig with all of the useful features that this one has, such as a drilling bit collar guide.
