Questions & Answers
It should fit without issue; use a tape to measure the arbor size on your grinder.
The product will withstand the high rpms, but the heat generated may be an issue. I'd take it one step at a time.
Yes, as long as the Mikita has a 5/8 arbor, it should fit.

Keep an eye on your grinder's RPM. On a 4 1/2" grinder, I use scotchbrite pads every now and then. My 3M Velcro had been ruined by my intention of using the edge, so I needed another rubber pad. When I put a pad on the grinder and started working, the pad flew off at breakneck speed, crashing into the wall. It's the first time that's happened to me, and I've been cleaning electrical connections with a pardon a grinder for over 30 years. I got a new pad thinking it was a bad one, but it also flew off and hit the wall, so I got a new one. I went online to order a 3M and read the instructions for this product. It only has a 4500 RPM rating. That slow of a grinder does not exist in my kitchen. It's possible that you'll be harmed by this!.
It's a fantastic tool, as it is for all of the other Stadea backers. However, I was disappointed to discover that the brass mounting did not have the same "taller" dimension as all of the others of the same brand name that I own, though this isn't a big deal to 99. 999% of users are satisfied with the service However, in order for my application to work, I had to make a few changes. To keep the same height as the rest of my Stadea backers, I'd like to use a stainless steel spacer. When working with a group of discs, they must all be the same height. Otherwise, they will not all make equal contact with the work surface.
For polishing, I employ aluminum backers. For mechanical cleaning of tile and glass, I prefer a stiff backer to hold hogs hair pads and buffing pads. The day after I got it, I slapped some Hogs hair 5" pads on it and went to work restoring a tile shower. The pad is securely held in place by the loop. It is critical. Now I'm going to see how long the loop stays on the pad after multiple uses. So far, the product has been of high quality. Thanks.
After ordering the proper rubber backing with 5/8" 11 thread, the pads work perfectly. This set does not include a backing and does not specify how to thread it. In terms of the diamond pads, they appear to be working properly, and I am getting the expected results.
I sanded a large concrete patch with this and the Stadea pads. They were a perfect match and did an excellent job in a short amount of time.
It was an excellent solution. While polishing granite, I kept the pads locked in place the entire time.
The velcro backing is excellent at keeping the pads in place. I would buy this product again because it has good flex for a soft backer.
