Hi John! Thank you for reaching out to us with your query. The 5/16"-thickness of the 3M 05576 Stikit 6" Disc Pad Most orbital sanders have a 24 EXT thread.
5/8, 11 is most definitely not the case. That's how you set up an angle grinder shaft and nut.
Thank you for reaching out to us with your query. The density of the yellow pads is medium. The beige disc pads are soft, while the red disc pads are firm.

I used to work in a boat yard and spent a lot of time with a sander. It's simple to feather out what you're working on without getting too deep into it. Some self-stick adhesive discs are less effective than others. In that case, I always apply a small amount of adhesive to the pad before placing the discs, and it works perfectly! When they don't want to come off, simply heat the used disc with a small torch until it peels away easily.
I understand why the price is a little high because these aren't commonly purchased for sanding, but I still think 70 dollars is a little high for a foam pad to place sandpaper on. It's also worth noting that 8-inch sandpaper isn't available on all carriers.
This pad performs flawlessly in the same way that the original 3M pad did for the past 20 years. It appears to be the same, so I expect it to last the same amount of time.
This is an excellent product; I can't say how much it aids in the sanding of discs, but it works well!.
I used my 8" D A sander for this. It's holding up well. Bodyguard with prior experience.
Awesome!.
Replacement on the spot.
