Only if your DeWALT has a thread per inch count of 24 and is 5/16" in diameter. This also applies to Velcro-style attachments.
Yes, your sander will be compatible with it. However, if you have the dust collector attachment, this will not work.
The Hutchins is a disc that measures 6 inches in diameter. It's best if you keep the diameter the same. The stud, on the other hand, is almost certainly the same size.

So far, this has proven to be an excellent replacement for my Porter Cable random orbital polisher's 6" hook and loop (Velcro) backing pad (replaces disk 18002 for less than a quarter of the price). Normally, I prefer OEM parts, but since this is just a flexible disk that holds a polishing pad, I can't justify spending an extra $25 on something that has no bearing on the tool's quality or performance. br>br>It appears to be well made, and I'll update after I've used it a few times, but for now, I'm very pleased with my purchase. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> It worked just as well as the old OEM one in polishing my car.
Because I was tired of being in the sun, I increased the pressure and increased the speed to high. For a while, it was still running fine at high speed, but the friction was making it hot. I don't remember what happened, but I had to quickly lift it off the car without turning off the polisher, and it tore right off. I think this is great because the one from Porter Cable costs a lot more, but keep in mind that it may not be as durable as the one from Porter Cable, or at the very least, be more careful with it to make it last longer.
My HF DA polisher (62862/69924)'s original pad had broken apart and I needed a new one. Because Harbor Freight does not sell them separately, I went to Lowes and bought one that didn't have the hook and loop surface, which I had to return. Finally, I went to Amazon, where I should have started the search in the first place, and discovered this item that fits and functions perfectly. Now I can spend my weekends buffing my car and bike!.
This is my second purchase of the items, which have proven to be extremely useful. I use it as a hand sanding block by attaching a wooden knob to the back. I can now set them up with grits of various sizes.
For me, it's perfect. I bought some Rupes 5" pads instead of 6" pads by mistake, but they were on sale at a great price, so instead of returning them, I decided to buy this backing pad. I completed a two-part project. I used the old Harbor Freight Chicago Electric DA to stage paint correction on my Nissan Murano with no problems with the backing plate.
It is excellent value for money. It is perfectly flat right out of the box. I use it on a Harbor Freight DA polisher, and it's ten times better than the crap that came with it. I use 3D speed to switch between two polishers (one with a cutting pad and the other with a polishing pad). I'm sure this keeps it from overheating. Is this going to keep the backer from getting too hot? I'm sure it does, but the backer works perfectly for me.
It was mounted beneath my grinding stand on an old electric motor. My father had saved an electric motor, which he gave to me several years ago. I was tired of having to go upstairs to the woodshop every time I needed to sand something, so I mounted the motor to my downstairs grinding stand, wired a household switch, and ordered this pad. It's now a perfect sander (for sharpening contractor pencils, mostly). It's a good pad at a reasonable price.
Backing pad isn't exactly what it says it is. While it fits, I'll have to be extra cautious when installing my buffing pads because it's undersized. The backing pad measures 4 inches by 4 inches. NOT 5" in diameter, but 3/4". To maintain proper balance and prevent the buffing pad from being flung off, I'll need to make sure it's properly centered.
