This was a bit of a surprise to me, but this pad creates a. Surface is extremely smooth. It's a bit on the pricey side, but it's well worth it. I ordered another hard pad for one of my other Festool Sanders after using this one for a while.
I have a festool collection that I've been using in the shop for years. My entire collection is made in Germany and is of exceptional quality. Although the prices are high, you do get what you pay for.
I don't think I need to say anything else because this is a Festool product.
It's pricey, but it'll last you a long time!.
I've spent more than $10,000 on Festool tools and have no regrets. However, I have a problem with this when a sanding pad for my Rotex 150 lasts only a year before literally falling apart. I've had the RO150 for about three years, and I've only used it a handful of times. My old pad had crumbled and I needed a new one about a year ago. I actually purchased three different pads: a hard pad, a softer pad, and an extra soft pad for curved surfaces. I'd been using the (hard pad exclusively) until it fell apart tonight, with the white foam in the middle of the pad separating from the rest. I decided to replace it with one of the other two I had, and guess what? When they attempted to install them, they BOTH fell apart. Foam rot in its entirety br>br>I also have an old (8-year-old) Bosh that I've only changed the pad ONCE in that time, and it's been 6 years. Each of the Festool pads is priced at $49. The Bosh is about 15 years old. Do you see what I mean? ARE YOU LISTENING TO FESTOOL? Or are they simply unconcerned? It's ridiculous. I'd sell the Rotex and forget about it if I didn't love it so much. br>br>Do you think I'm upset right now, Ami? I am, of course! I just saw 150 dollars fly away, 100 of which were completely useless! When you charge a premium, you should expect a premium Festool in return. br>br>I keep all of my pads and other items in my home under air conditioning and away from humidity. Now I'm worried about my collection of different pads for other Festool sanders, such as the inline sander I purchased with a box of different shaped pads. br>br>I suppose it's just a matter of living and learning.
My Festool RO 150 FEQ sander is a five-star product in my opinion. My Festool tools are great, but their sanding pads aren't as long-lasting as I'd like. The pad on my sander just disintegrated while I was sanding a piece of wood after only sporadic use in a hobbyist environment. These pads should last much longer at Festool's price point.
