Hook had purchased a replacement fiberglass backing plate. The "plastic," fiberglass backing plates had a tear out problem around the screw mounting holes in the past, according to Loop pads. That wasn't an issue for me, but I did notice that the Hook Even when they were brand new, the loops on those pads didn't grip the backing loops very well, and they quickly lost their ability to hold the paper. When grabbing the loops on the back of the paper, these Black Box Brand appear to be much more aggressive. I'm glad I saw them and bought them; they were only a few dollars more, but they appear to be well worth it.
I do a lot of sanding and put a lot of wear and tear on my tools, so I was happy to see that this unit has a much stiffer metal backing plate - It appears to be on par with, if not better than, the OEM unit I remember from when my sanders were new. In addition, hook The loop has a good grip.
It works perfectly, just like the OEM part; just remember to torque down the pad screws; they may appear tight, but they aren't! br>br>I've seen a couple of reviews where people say the pad stripped and wore out because they didn't tighten it properly.
I finally got around to buying these and couldn't be happier with them. They're easy to install and have excellent adhesion. I would strongly suggest it.
For my Makita orbital sander, I ordered several high-priced OEM replacement pads. I've placed several orders for non-alcoholic beverages. Also available are OEM pads. This is, without a doubt, the best. Over the last few months, I've been using my sander a lot with this pad. Perfect fit, long-lasting, and sanding discs stick to this pad far better than others. I'm sure I'll place another order.
That's fantastic; now I just have to wait for the new item to arrive so I can finish my project.
This replacement sander pad is superior to the one that came standard with my sander. It has a good metal subbase and a pliable but firm pad that grips the paper better.
The mounting surface determines whether these pads will last for a long time. This part appears to be of high quality, with a sturdy metal mounting plate. br>I bought a pad with a composite mounting surface in January, and it broke down after less than 6 months of very light use. A composite mounting surface should be avoided when using the pad UPC718774564870.
