The term "hardened steel" is a bit of a catchall. In a nutshell, yes, but at a higher rate of wear. This blade has been used to cut a truck leaf spring and stainless steel panels. Both of these materials would be more difficult to work than mild steel.

Because I didn't have a chop saw, I used this blade on a 12" miter saw to cut exhaust pipe, and it worked perfectly. There were a lot of sparks flying around. The show was well received by the children.
My compound miter saw is a Dewalt DW705 12" miter saw. This seemed like an obvious choice to me. Unfortunately, I attempted to install the Dewalt 12" cutting wheel when it arrived. It was not going to work; Because it is too thick, there was insufficient clearance to allow it to fit. Worse yet, I inquired about my options with Dewalt customer service. I received an email confirming that they had received my inquiry, but they have yet to respond after almost a month.
I still haven't opened it, despite the fact that I've had it for about 9 months, and I'm sure it's fine inside its nice little form-fitting cardboard; the reason for this is that a girl who had been gone for half a year returned, and I decided to claim her as mine before the world could do anything else to her. This is for an unopened metal cutting saw from the same time period that will be used in the construction of a go kart for which I have been collecting parts for the past three years. My life is rapidly slipping away from me, and I am terrified. However, by cutting 3/4 inch steel square tubing for a go kart with a porter cable 15 amp chop saw 14", this blade will hopefully help me get back on track.
The blade performs admirably, but when used on a wood miter saw, the metal that emerges from the back becomes so hot that it melts the dust collection shoot. Don't forget to take off your bag!.
Purchase an optical tachometer with a speed control to set the speed at 1400 rpm or less as required. and a 14-inch cold-cut blade from a well-known brand. As far as abrasives go, this one is a solid performer that gives you a lot of bang for your buck.
I needed to cut a few 1/4" steel shelf brackets. I was surprised that it came in a padded envelope and wasn't cracked because it did exactly what I needed for such a low price! Straighten the cut. br>br> Burrs were left behind, but that was to be expected. There was nothing a bench grinder couldn't fix. For future jobs, I purchased two more. After this job, the blade was completely worn out.
My order stated that there would be two packs, but only one was delivered. Someone clearly broke open a two-pack in order to sell one of them. It didn't quite fit - br>br> When I installed my saw, it shook and vibrated!.
It didn't seem to cut through the metal as well as I had hoped. You must account for the fact that it makes a fairly wide cut.
