Questions & Answers

Is this a United States-made bag?

Their bag 58890, which is made in the United States, is the closest match I've found. It's smaller and less useful, with a higher price tag to match. I prefer an all-black color scheme and wish this bag had it, but alas, you have to take the good with the bad. If you want something made in the United States, you'll have to pay for it.

Why are there reviews of the 10" tote and the shoulder pouch on the product page for the 8" tote?

Because you can purchase them all from the same page and choose your preferred size.

Is it possible to purchase the plastic organizer separately as a spare?

There are no plastic organizers included. Klein no longer sells them, but you might be able to find some that work.

Is there enough room in this bag for a can of dope (thread sealant)?

Yes, at least in the middle.

Selected User Reviews For Klein Tools 5541610-14 Tool Bag with Shoulder Strap Has 40 Pockets for Tool Storage and Orange Interior

I'm a cable technician, and this bag is perfect for me
5/5

This bag is THE ONE for me because of the deep pockets, the base, and the close proximity of all the tools. Every tool has its own compartment, and I can easily transfer items from this bag. I used to have a waist pouch that was very bothersome. It was very inconvenient for me to have a tool bag that kept closing. Everything is open and easy to see in this bag, and everything has its own spot. It also does not fall over. In addition, the shoulder strap is extremely comfortable. You can carry it on your shoulder or with the smaller handle, which has a very solid and comfortable grip.

Excellent for electricians or any other type of service technician
5/5

This is a fantastic bag. I've tried a variety of tool bags and found this one to be ideal for my job as a service electrician who primarily works in the commercial sector. It's big enough to hold my essential tools, but not so big that I can't carry much else. It's a good thing, too! I have a habit of overpacking my tool bag with everything, including "just in case" tools that I only use every six months or so. I've had it for a few months now and it's been fantastic. I've dragged it through crawl spaces, hung it from lift handles, carried it into offices, and dragged it across industrial construction sites. It is something I strongly suggest.

I use a toolbag all day for my work in appliance repair, carrying it into 6-foot tall buildings, and it's a well-made bag with a few nagging design issues
4/5

I've been using this style of bag for ten years and prefer it to boxes or zippered bags when I'm working on ten houses per day and need a good variety of tools on hand. This is a little more expensive than I usually spend, but I like my Klein handbags and decided to give it a try. I've spent a decade slimming down my gear to a manageable weight, and they help me make a living, so a small investment can pay off. Advantages: br>br>
- Because most of my tools have black handles, having a bright interior for visibility helps me find what I'm looking for much faster. I won't have to use bright paint or stickers to color code my tools to make them visible.
- Once I've gotten used to the layout, I can organize my bag and grab a tool without having to look at it. This is a must when you're crammed into a small space.
- Stable on the job and in the van thanks to the rigid bottom.
- Fabric and stitching are sturdy, so I'll see how long it lasts. Fabric bags wear out over time, but for the price, I'm hoping for many years of use. br>br>Contrary to popular belief, there are a number of disadvantages to using this product.
- Pockets with a lot of depth, and a bag with a lot of depth. All of my tools, with the exception of my longest, tend to get too deep into my pockets to be easily retrieved. I'll get used to it, but this bag is two years old. 3" deeper than the previous ones.
- I don't like shoulder straps, and the lack of padding on the handles makes it a little uncomfortable to carry on longer commutes to work. Not in a bad way, but just enough to make your hands scream for help.
- It's a little bigger than I anticipated, and it's more than I require. I've always carried electrician bags, but none as large as this. The issue is that if a toolbag isn't handled carefully, it will quickly fill up, making larger bags heavy.
- Larger tools, such as bit cases or drill/drivers, may be too small for the inner pockets. They will fit in the bag, but not in the interior pockets because they are too small. Longer hand tools would probably fit, but the majority of mine are stored in the outer areas for easy access.

It's a Klein, so it's practically perfect, and I work in heavy industrial maintenance, so everything I own takes a beating
5/5

I wanted something that I could easily carry, that would stand up when I set it down on the ground, and that had a molded bottom because I frequently set my tools down in a wet spot, and those wet spots sometimes have all kinds of caustic solutions floating around. As a result, this bag became my choice. Here are the advantages (in no particular order): br>br>
1. 2. incredibly rigidbr>br>br>br>br>br Excellent stature – Nothing comes out of it unintentionally flopped. My Klein clamp-on is shown in the photo for comparison. The style DMM is in the middle, and it's almost the same height as the bag. br>3. Back is flat - When carrying, it doesn't bounce around on the hip. br>4. 5. Heavy-duty carry handle and thickly padded shoulder strapbr> Interior is bright orange, making it easier to see insidebr>6. Bottom with a molded design - I have no reservations about putting this down in nearly an inch of standing waterbr>7. The pockets are generous in size. Even though there are only 14 pockets, you can fit at least three tools in many of them. br>br>Here's what I keep in it at all times, to the best of my recollection, with some room left over: br>8" Channellocks, 8" adjustable wrench, 3 slotted screwdrivers (small, medium, large), 2 stubby all-in-one screwdrivers, 2 needle nose pliers, dikes, 2 strippers, 2 locknut wrenches, 2 Vice Grips, DMM, small spotlight, 3 combination wrenches, medium spiral notepad, wire label book, electrical tape, various lockout devices There's also a good chance there'll be a few other things. br>br>Cons - If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, this is the place to be.
1. The shoulder strap is not swivelable, but the carry handle is. 99% of the times I reach for the shoulder strap, I first have to untangle it, which isn not the end of the world, but it is still annoying.
2. It's a little on the heavy side. Granted, it is a heavy-duty bag, but if the weight of a bag is a concern for you, proceed with caution. For me, it's not a big deal. br>br>In conclusion, Klein is one of the only manufacturers of any type of product that when I buy it online, sight unseen, and it arrives, it is always of a higher quality than you expect. br>br>It's highly suggested.

10" is a large, bulky size that holds a surprising number of tools
3/5

I adore my AWP bag, the design is ideal for organizing tools, but the build quality isn’t great, so I decided to get the 2010” Klein, it’s I suppose if you need 150 long screwdrivers and a few pairs of pliers, this is the bag for you. I'll try again, but I believe I'll have to return it.
