Questions & Answers

From what size does the set start and what sizes does it ?

A set measuring 3/8" up to 7/8" is measured in sixteenths

Would anyone be able to tell me how to calculate the torque I'm sure the torque measurement should be subtracted from it. ?

If you want Torque exactly to match what you have set the wrench at, you need to put the Dog Bone, or Crows Foot at a 90 degree angle with The extended length can be calculated from the square drive of the wrench if you have it straight out. A torque wrench is measured as M1 = M2 x L1 / L2 where M1 represents the torque setting of the wrench and M2 represents the torque applied to it. L1 represents the normal length of the wrench, measured from the handle end In summary, L2 is the length of the wrench from the square drive to the new adapter center. To do this, you might need to take out the dog bone and reposition without twisting until you get the right click. *br>I hope this helps, and there is also an APP you can download to carry out the calculations.

Does the proto set come in metric?

It was not possible to find a Stanley Proto set that had metric measures. Other companies had metric sets such as Armstrong and others.

These wrenches are used for a number of things. What are they for? What's faster, the Fastner access or the Torque Can it be used to calibrate torque, and how?

These sockets are used to torque fasteners that can't be accessed by conventional sockets. An adapter oriented at 90 degrees will provide the maximum amount of power It does not require any calculations to apply the torque wrench at a degree angle. In the case of an angle other than 90 degrees, you are changing the length of the lever, and a calculation is required to determine the torque setting Not off the top of my head! I cannot remember the formulas!

In spite of the ever increasing spiral down to the bottom of the quality drain, PROTO has remained unaffected
5/5

A top-quality "top brand" tool would not measure up to its fit and finish. My hardware store brand tools form 20 years ago look less than spick and span compared to what we get on trucks today. The tools I picked up were used at the time to get the job done. Sad, my set of tools from my time as a millwright are much nicer than most of those used The company has over 20 years of experience, and it is one of the best values in the industry. I wish I didn't need to place an order online because today's stock system does nothing to reduce inventory it only cuts costs It is likely that the government will add new taxes to recover the tax money which would have been lost if inventories were held. A customer who is already unhappy is then charged more. I found it fascinating how everything was purchased by catalog 100 years ago, and stores spread for convenience. Now stores are disappearing, and there is no such thing as a store. I love catalogues. I cannot imagine how inconvenient it is.

Tools of high quality made in the USA, highly recommended
5/5

As stated, the Stanley Proto #J5100 torque adapter wrench set is well made and functions as expected. Like many of proto's products, this one is made in the United States with high quality materials. lobular cut in the wrench openings prevents the fasteners from being rounded off since they turn against the sides of them. As far as the finish on the wrenches goes, it looks good, but there are a couple of small blemishes on the back side of the chrome plating, so I would rate it as 90% rather than 98-percent. The typical rate I receive from S is 100% You can also buy Snap On and K. There is no skipping of sizes in this 9 piece set that goes from 3/8" to 7/8" with no gap between sizes, but Snap On sells a five piece set between 5/16" and 9/16" for more money than this 9 piece set. The storage bar is very helpful because it comes with spring ball attachments on each end to make it a 3/8" drive bar. Although wrenches may not fall off, they are relatively easy to remove if you are aware of doing so. All markings on the front are still legible and the function is not altered even if the chrome plating has blemishes on the rear. The blemishes are very minor and appear on the rear of the wrenches, so the function is not affected. My cruiser motorcycle accessory would not be acceptable with this logo on it if I saw it on a wrench. Buying an American made set of torque adapter wrenches that includes the sizes from 3/8" to 7/8" is an excellent investment for anyone interested in a high quality, high performance tool. As if they know that you won't need some sizes in this range, vendors skip some sizes from this range. If my guess is right, then you would have to pay extra to purchase the other sizes, and then the storage bar would not be long enough to hold the additional sizes. The Proto set won't cause you any problems like that. Trust in the quality of the product. Thank you for my purchase. I am very happy with it.

To torque some 9/16" diameter bolts with reduced head size, I had to use a torque wrench
5/5

12 was the maximum number of heads It needed to be torqued up to 120 foot-pounds A pound. Due to the high torque, I searched for a similar product in a 1/2" drive size but I could not find one at a reasonable price. Although they clearly withstood the torque, they did not show any signs This is remarkable.

1/4" torque adapter size should be included
4/5

12-inch torque adapter size should be included. A point bolt is common in aviation, especially those with a 1/4" head. Having to order this adapter from Snap on, I had to pay $24 for the single adapter, as this set did not include that size. Apart from that, though, it is a great set, and I highly.

The set was excellent
5/5

Good set to have when you work on motorcycles. It comes in very handy when you work on them. The only thing I can do is torque screwdriver bolts that are difficult to reach. Motorcycle repair is not complete without this item.

These torque adapters are great
5/5

I bought these in order to remove the forward nose cowl bolts from the B767 engine when changing the engine. Bolts requiring this must be stored in this manner. I like it a lot.
