Questions & Answers

What is the country of origin of this item?

There is a mark on the product to indicate that it is made in the USA. After using it for a year or so, I have found that it is of the finest quality. Although it was made in the United States, it was not designed for use on production lines. The only problem is I'm sure it would deteriorate in a few months if I did that 50 or 100 times a day. However, for my use in small arms work on a case by case basis, it provides repeatable and consistent data. The tool I have found to be one of the best tools I've ever purchased is used to repair antique clocks. This is saying quite a bit. I wish you all the best, Larry

What is the bidirectional nature of this tool? In other words, does it behave as a torque wrench when turned both clockwise and counterclockwise The clockwise direction?

There is only one direction for this torque wrench

What are the standard bits for this. ?

It is indeed a standard 1/4" bit

The highest level A Made in USA product of the highest quality
5/5

Although I originally planned on purchasing the normal Wheeler torque driver, I decided to splurge instead because I wanted something that I'd be able to use for a lifetime. My tool collection includes a Wheeler driver and bit set (not a torque driver) as well as some flat-bladed tools The screws are tightening, but they are still loose). Though I would have preferred a better quality case for the price, the CDI driver is great. In real life, the exterior doesn't look like the royal blue, smooth, metallic you see in the pictures. This one has a darker matte finish that is texturized, but it is very nice. It feels more rugged and durable than the one pictured on the product page (which I have used previously). My intention was to use it for firearm maintenance, because I have a tendency to over-clean Especially when mounting optics, people tense things up, as they usually do when working on pistols, rifles, and so forth. It's a great match for the purpose because of the torque range it provides.

The decision to go with this one is the right one for me
4/5

Purchasing this screwdriver was a little more expensive than I originally intended, but I'm pleased that I chose it for a tool that will only be used on my rifle scope occasionally. The wheeler F was also an option for me. It's a pretty decent wrench, but as its name suggests, the handle is a little fat and I wanted a slimmer one to fit better in my field bag and this fits perfectly. It has a handle that is about one and a half inches wide and weighs ten ounces. There is 8 ounces in each pouch. Listed is a torque range of 5 to 1000 Nm The weight is 40 inches pounds, but it can be adjusted from 3 to 10 pounds It is supposed to be accurate up to 48 inch pounds, but it is unlikely they will guarantee this outside of the The adjustable range is 0 to 1. An inch and a half The canister is adjustable in half pound increments and can be locked in any half pound increment. With this device, you pull out the wheel on top and rotate it until the desired torque level is reached. It takes five full turns to turn the wheel one full circle. On the side of the handle body is a scale that displays what range of 5 pounds you are in. If the dial is set to 2 and the scale is between 10 and 15, this should cause the scale to be between 10 and 15. If you turn 0 into 12 inch pounds, you have In theory, the slider on the scale should be exactly on one of the five-pound marks when the dial is at zero, but that is not the case. In terms of price, I would expect that it would be right on given the high price of it, but for the high price, it is not ambiguous which one it is supposed to be. Overall this is a very good tool, and the minor concern is only a minor one.

A torque driver suitable for production use (updated)
4/5

The second update is as follows I purchased 3 units on January 30, 2013.

So far, 2 of the 3 units are functioning The two tools were inspected in my calibration lab, and neither was malfunctioning. Besides purchasing a fourth to replace the failed one, I've also recently invested in a fifth. As a result, I gave this product 4 stars because I still think it's a great product. All of my operators like it, and now they prefer it to their previous operating system. As a result, the three drivers are only used by one or two operators, so they do not receive the same level of use as the first. A quick update Unfortunately, I had to decrease my star rating of 5 stars to 3 due to an unforeseen event that took place on August 27, 2012. I still like it and my operators use it very much, but if they only last 6 months, it is not worth the money. The test results from the first unit were disappointing, so I sent it to the calibration lab for a 6 month overhaul. In the end, they were not able to get the tool calibrated again. There was a small mismatch between the high and low end settings, around one pound below what was set. As the upper limit was set to 40 lbs, the weight was around 48 lbs. As a result of this problem, this tool was used 24 hours a day during all of my shifts to look for this very issue. Depending on how the device is used, the lifespan might be a little longer. It is around 36 lb-ft that we have the highest torque. I bought two more of these products, and they are currently being used in production, after the first one was used for three months, and my calibration lab approved it. Since they were purchased, they have been used without issue for 2 months. I will update this review when those have been reviewed by my calibration department for their 6 month overhaul. I bought this torque driver along with others to test before purchasing sets for all of my operators (Original Review April 2012)

I am very happy with the price, the performance, and the feedback I have received from There are multiple torque specs for which we use it, ranging from 10 to 36 inch-pounds Weight in pounds. I was very pleased with the calibration lab The low and high only varied by 2%, which is extremely small, when compared to the range of In general, my seasoned operators (who generally do not like change) were very pleased with this design and how easy it is to adjust. I will now test it and have it used through all our shifts to determine whether it is really durable. Then I will send it back to the lab for calibration, to double check variation, and to make sure there are no problems with adjusting torques. If I run into any issues,.
