I bought these 3/4" extensions, a Dewalt 3/4" 19mm socket, and a Harbor Freight 3/4" breaker bar after breaking my Craftsman 1/2" ratchet trying to remove a Honda V6 crank pulley bolt. By using a jack handle the full length (4 feet of pipe over the breaker bar) I dislodged the bolt in a matter of seconds. These babies are tucked under my toolbox, and I'm more than happy to have them.
Knowing how expensive it can be to find the lowest price is one of the three things a mechanic is taught. The tool trucks are a favorite of many people because they are convenient to use, since they can be purchased now and paid Some of the tools on the truck I buy Some of the tools I'm finding on the trucks can be found at a fraction of the cost on Amazon. I've been meaning to purchase a set of 3/4" extensions for the longest time, but you can not find a similar set for this price off the truck at all.
To remove 42mm nuts from a 7-inch socket, I used a 42mm socket, along with a breaker bar and the longest extension Rotary cutter with a foot. When attached to my tractor, the cutter uses these nuts to hold the heavy blades that are used to mow the pastures. I was worried before I bought this extension set, the socket, and the long breaker bar from Amazon that I would need an impact wrench and an air compressor to remove the nuts. However, the bolts came off quickly with this extension, the socket, and the long breaker bar! Using the longest extension has provided me with the clearance I needed to remove the sockets from the cutter deck while standing on it. In order to prevent the nuts from backing out, cotter pins were used to hold the nuts in place.
So removing factory-tight bolts without an impact wrench is possible? I was able to complete the task much more easily with this extension!.
The set of three 3/4" drive extensions is very nice. After using it for some serious time, the retaining balls of the sockets just fell out of the extension bars of my 3/4" socket set. As you can see, this set is superior to that of the last one, so it should be able to handle abuse when I use a 6-foot leverage bar to undo big nuts.
I didn't buy these for their impact resistance, I bought them because they were a great price and I had to reach the oil filter with a few extension tubes. It will be up to you if you want to test any impact ability with them, but it is stamped "chrome vandium" I cannot vouch for their impact competency - you will have to make your own judgement.
It would have been better if the sockets were better secured on I constantly had the issue of them coming was a good product to use for my purposes.
The only issue I have is that the extensions are too short. This is hard to beat for the price. They state on the extension that the overall length, not the working length, is how long they are. One inch has been shaved off the working length. It's not a big deal to most people, but I have to torque bolts through access holes to maintain alignment. A note to the wise if you work in an area with limited access.
It is my profession to work with heavy diesel engines. These two tools were purchased in conjunction with a 3/4" breaker bar to help me remove the rear wheel lugs from 40' passenger buses. For a roadside service call on the side of the road, I required a good set-up for changing tires. I like these because they're convenient and easy to use As well as using them at work, I also use them in the shop. Even lugs that had been tightened to 450 hold up just fine when removed by hand from clamps that I haven't used them with an impact gun. This is equivalent to 500 pounds. For the price, this is a great deal!.
