It will continue to show the reading after you remove the socket, yes
Yes, that will be true. In your case, when you tighten it or crack it free, it will display the highest torque you used to tighten or loosen it for a few seconds after the tightening or loosening is complete.
In that case, the current torque of the angle you are traveling will be displayed.

Let us leave the gearwrench name behind.
It was almost break-down time, and I was going to purchase the Snapon TechAngle for over $500. Thus, despite other reviewers' assertions, the Snapon IS NOT comparable in any significant way to this product. The Snapon TechAngle is designed specifically to do just that. It can also measure There is no way to do that with this wrench. If you need accurate ANGLE measurements, and can pull over 200 pounds with impressive durability, then Snapon is the way to go. I like this digital wrench because it offers the best warranty, highest resale value, and no angle measurements, as well as going over 200lbs. I have used it for a few months now, and it's a good buy at the price.
It is a quality piece of tooling that is well made. However,
1. Whenever it feels like it, it eats batteries like a "husky" kid eats candy (a pair a week). You can reach us at If you let it sit in the studio for a few days, it can sometimes not start and it really eats up batteries (one pair a day). Taking it outside for an hour or two while it warms up is more pleasant for the really liked how quiet the beeping was and how the buzzing/vibrating was too. The handle is comfortable and it is very accurate. The teeth are quite fine and they have a nice finish on the outside. While overall I like it, I would have bought a CDI/Precision for my 1 and only 1/2" torque wrench if I could change it. It is still less expensive at $100 on sale than $170.
My only way to test the accuracy is to compare it to my usa craftsman, which seems to get things just as Having the option to switch measurements inlbs, ftlbs, and nm at the press of a few buttons is fantastic. My recommendation would be to just get a split beam wrench if you do not have the patience of a saint. You will find that it is very easy to go overtorque with it when trying to move at any sort of pace. Even when the warning beep is set to 50%, I will have to creep up on it or cross over to make my brain realize something is wrong. As I get used to it, I am getting better by the end of the day, but my brain is trained to feel for the clicks and releases.
When I checked it against a CDI, it There are 2 things I would change if I had a chance Including the BEEP volume switch as well as the release button on the head would greatly improve its usability. I am not sure if micrometer torque wrenches generally have a release pin on the socket head, but I think it will be nice if this one does. Changing a socket is not an easy task The screws have to be yanked off with some effort. However, it is a minor complaint, not the end of the world We will break. In regards to the BEEPS, they are loud, which is great when you reach your torque target, but they sound every time you press a button. Hold down Every tenth of a pound is changed when torque targets are changed. I find this to be a small bother as well. In the end, I am happy I purchased You'll find yourself using it too often to justify buying something better at four times the price. You'll also need to buy a couple of AA batteries, since they are not included.
was just as excited about the fact that it was all digital and that the results were Using it as an extended ratchet would be more beneficial! On the day I got it, I noticed that it was randomly showing FFF and then going away after I turned it on and off. It is necessary for the device to be calibrated, as I found out! After you have not used the device for a brief period, it power off quickly. When you get to something that needs rotating (flywheel, inner CV mount on trucks, etc. ), it will power off by the time you reach it. You need to press the power button again for about 3 seconds to get it working again. It might work for the occasional user but I think it's not one of gearwrench's best tools. In fact, I think it's probably one of their worst. By the way, I am a certified tech.
In the end, I purchased this refurbished the first time and in place of it I purchased infant clothing for the "First Christmas of Baby"! The Amazon refund system did not work for me on my card/bank account, and I did not receive a refund All they would give me is Amazon credit. My order has been revised - The same tool in the same condition (refurbished) - Because I had to pay a higher price, the credit I received did not cover the full purchase cost, which meant that I had to pay even MORE for the SAME TOOL I had ordered a week earlier! It shows up after I wait just a minute or so - My ass is no longer inoperative. It has been repaired! Calibrate is displayed on the screen, then it will turn off and turn off again. Not at all A functional word. All it took me was an hour (or less) to figure out that the previous owner/user had stressed the tool beyond its calibrated limits, so I had to send it back to Gearwrench for calibration The first calibration I had done (at my own expense, of course) was nearly as much as I had paid for the tool itself. The item was returned (yet again) and I was credited with another Amazon Store Credit. I decided to just buy some Milwaukee M18 batteries and call it a day.
