Questions & Answers
It was used to tighten a crank pulley bolt, but nothing for a low ft/lb setting has ever been required of it. As for the engine mount bolts, I believe you are fine. If you were to use them for any type of engine work (e. For your crank mains, rods, heads, etc) I strongly recommend that you get them calibrated.
Several high torque applications have proven to be very successful with this tool. Having taken it to 180ft/lbs repeatedly with no problems, I can say that it works fine. There is a solid adjuster that locks in place once it is adjusted. As a whole, this is a great wrench for a serious mechanic who doesn't need the top of the line model, but rather one with capabilities that are in line with the job at hand. As far as I can tell, the GearWrench is holding up very well.
During torque, only clockwise rotation will be possible

The Home Depot Torque Wrench is a similar option. I can tell you that even though the handle vibrates with all the fancy digital light up features, it performed perfectly during the race. I borrowed a wrench and used it improperly, and someone destroyed it using it. The other techs in our shop used it just fine for 4 years before they took it. In terms of the actual torque wrench, I have to say having the Actual Gear Wrench branded torque wrench feels super nice in the hand. Rather than being made of plastic and rubber, it is entirely made of metal. This tool is a great all-purpose tool for any project, as long as you maintain it properly, for a fraction of what something off the tool truck would cost. Although I miss my Husky-branded one quite a bit, I still prefer my new one. It handled the pressure and passed every calibration testing machine it was ever put on, while working alongside thousand dollar wrenches! I used it for four years with techs who had thousand dollar torque wrenches. Because of that, it had a kinder special effect on me.
In addition to putting in underground fittings, our crews assembled many pipelines. Flanged fittings and mechanical fittings are what we do. Most of the time, we use 3/4-inch bolts, and the torque is set to 85 ft-lb Weight in pounds. The torque is applied to Those bolts will be driven up with an impact device, but every one will also be torque-wrecked. It is common to check them a couple of times per year because the bolts are mostly stainless steel. Seals are used on the heads of this wrench. It keeps water and dirt out better than other brands and more expensive torque wrenches. We've tried other brands and more expensive torque wrenches, but they didn't last. This one is more sealed and lasts longer. I purchase one or two of these a year to provide equipment to our crew members. This is a highly recommended book.
It would be my main concern if I bought these wrenches if I could feel the click mechanism. I don't think that is a problem after all. There's no doubt about it. There are several great features about this wrench it looks great, it's heavy, the clutch and adjustment are easy, and there is a nice storage case included. extremely happy with how this turned out.
SK walked off with my old SK, and I bought this to replace it. Right now, I cannot afford another SK torque wrench, but I already own a few Gearwrench torque wrenches of smaller sizes, so I decided to give this a shot. It has been about 10 years since I bought a Gearwrench wrench made in the United States. this is no longer made from scratch in the USA, and it is now manufactured The user would not be able to detect it, however. The engine is very solid and well made, and the machining is top notch. As soon as I checked the accuracy on a gauge, it was less than 2lbs off at 150ft/lbs, which is excellent. My only minor complaints are that I don't like the sliding coller as much as the rotating lock on my USA models, and those also have a nicer padded handle. Generally speaking, this is a very good product and has proven to be equally reliable as my old SK that someone saw fit to lend to themselves.
The construction of this product is excellent. a one with a lower torque spec that I find to be very reliable. This is my second Gearwrench I purchased and I haven't used it yet, but I am very comfortable with it. A gearwrench torque wrench is a good, mid-priced tool as long as you take care of it and treat it like a high quality measurement tool. I cannot justify spending top dollar on a torque wrench if you take care of it properly. I have no disappointments to report. Buying it is a good idea!.
I have owned several Gear Wrench tools for many years and wanted a quality torque wrench for my This machine is easy to adjust, provides repeatable results, and comes with an accompanying storage case. Voici a tip It is quite important to "break the torque" by using on the bolt/lug with the torque wrench and gently "clicking" the wrench after using it - please remember to zero out the wrench after using it. In this way, the wrench will stay calibrated while in storage and will not be put under tension.
I snapped a brake caliper slide bolt when I tightened it to 30 ft/lbs. As a result, it is likely the bolt had been overtorqued before it was installed, and it began to crack as a result. It's either not very accurate at low torque settings or it doesn't function properly.
It seems like the wrench is doing the job very well. There is something very nice about the simple, bombproof cam lever, and the knurled grip makes it easy to set and very precise. The "click" when you hit the selected torque setting feels very positive and is wonderful. There is a factory torque accuracy test readout, which is a nice touch. Overall, the torque wrench is a pleasure to use and feels like it is likely to last for a long time.
