Questions & Answers

The screwdriver bit will allow me to squeeze it into a tight space, but how small can it get? Is that okay?

The amount of screwdriver bit you use depends on its length. When not equipped with a bit, the bit driver end of the VIM driver is 3/8" thick. The total thickness of the hole is 1" if a typical Phillips bit is used. I think this is the best This is one

Can you tell me what the length of the ratchet is?

Item 6". Those in the picture seem to be taller than they are in reality. I like how it's got a nice little offset, but the ratcheting mechanism is stiff, in a good way. I am a mechanic and can say that this is a must-have for any aircraft

How does this item's material(s) compare with other products like it? Thanks so much. ?

Alloy steel heated to a high temperature then polished.

Do the heads of the ratchets have an angled or straight design?

An insignificant amount of angle but not a lot

This is not a good model - don't buy it Don't limit yourself to just one
5/5

When this tool was sold by Home Depot many moons ago, the model number was The first tool box I purchased took up half my garage, so I had to get a second one to fit both. Everything seemed to be going well. After more than a decade, I found out my ex-husband Home Depot did not have these tools anymore so I had to start over. My wife took everything so I had to replace everything. My old favorite was the VIM HBR5, but I had bought 4 other brands / styles of low clearance bit drivers that all failed to live up to its performance. Just before I decided to end it all, I found the old favorite renamed I use one end for a dedicated 1/4" square driver, while the other takes short 1/4" hex bits up to the hilt. I just put #2 or #3 Phillips bits in there and don't think twice about it. It cannot be hidden by a screw or nut. There are two ways to get this tool You already have it, or you want it. There is one tool in my tool box that I enjoy the style, the feel, and am looking forward to using every time I use Now that life is good again, it feels good.

Materials have changed since the manufacturer changed them a couple of years ago
3/5

This is a much lower quality product. This is the 2nd one I bought 2 years ago and it's still working great to this day, despite the fact that I've used it on bolts with more torque than I It has also been my experience to use older HBR3 wrenches in the same way. A few weeks ago, I bought 2 new ones since my old one is constantly getting borrowed and I live in constant fear of it getting lost. When they arrived, I noticed the black metal part (the part that holds the bit) had a flat finish, as opposed to my old one. There was only one thing to do finish the race. Not at all. Newer models are made with the lowest level of pot metal instead of the black part that was once made of actual tool steel. The wrenches shattered after I applied less than 30 inch pounds of force to them while I was working on a couple of bolts. As a result, I am very dissatisfied with the choice made by the manufacturer.

I don't think it's an overly strong word to use
5/5

There is nothing that I like better than this! To see how versatile this product is, see the pictures below. Keep an eye on the pictures but don't get too caught up in their details. Having a little fun was all I was trying to do. In the end, though, you have the option of picking up an impact or driver bit set and the possibilities are nearly endless. This is a tool that Pro mechanics recommend and carry in their toolboxes because of its ability to access tight spaces and turn any 1/4 or 5/16 hex bit, impact or standard, It's time for pros and DIYers to get one. It should be noted that as other reviewers have mentioned, this is the old Husky model In the past, and still in the current model, it was made by VIM, a fantastic American manufacturer who manufactures most of the brands of tool trucks. There are some products made in Taiwan, including this one as well as the steel bits, since they do a good job on them. They manufacture a lot of their products in their factory in the United States. Likewise, VIM's customer service is as good as any and even better than most. You'll feel as if you're a Snap-citizen The customer is always right Then) try to deal with them properly. Alternatively, I have an adapter set that turns my ratcheting wrench into a driver like this (the 5/16 end on this tool has a removable 1/4 square Drive, you could use any impact square Drive adapter with a 1/4 hex connection In contrast, this particular model has switches on both ends that allow the device to be reversible. Unlike reversible ratcheting wrenches, the pipe wrench is not reversible. There is an offset as well. In addition to that, it's an ideal length for clearance issues, and it costs Additionally, it's ratcheting at 72T, so it's smooth. In addition, it is extremely low profile! VIM, too! Super cool! I love it!.

It does not include the accessory shown in the image
4/5

The photo for this item's packaging does not match the item you received. We have reported it to Amazon as well. In my image of the unopened item, you can see there is no provision for the pictured accessory (it appears to be an extension It appears that if the accessory was included in the delivered product previous to this month, it isn't now since it would need to be included separately from the shipment. The ratchet itself appears to be well-made and functions as described, offering an excellent alternative to the misleading image. It has the size of a thin 10mm wrench, which makes it easy to squeeze into tight areas. It is more comfortable to grip the tool with just the tips of your fingers when the flat portion of the ratchet is so thin.

The tool is very good
5/5

As an avionics engineer at a major aviation firm, I work on airplanes. This tool is an indispensable part of my daily routine. The tool is versatile, and it can get into tight, difficult spots that other tools can't reach. I like how it feels in my hand and how it works. (FYI, the socket attachment pops out when you press down on it, so the third component looks like this The tooth is difficult to pop out but if you squeeze it enough, it will break away. The pair I keep together, though they're apart - I no longer need to keep track of and etch an additional tool. 1) I do not regret the purchase, and I would (and already have) recommended this tool to those seeking.

It appears that something gray is going on
3/5

This is an excellent product that is ideal for what I intended to use it for. There is a socket included in the product picture, not just ratchet and 1/4" drive. I am deducting two stars because the image clearly shows a socket. The socket was not delivered to me. It would be great to hear in the event that there has been a mistake. There should have been a 1" drive 5/16" socket included and considering that a connector is shown in the product photo, I felt a bit shortchanged. Someone made a mistake on the pick/pack list or put in the wrong picture, which deprived VIM tools of an otherwise five star review.

Easy to use and stylish
5/5

I found it to be very helpful. It's hard to count the number of times I have been frustrated that I don't have a handle or driver for either set of bits despite needing them. You can either have a socket or a set. As I often find myself in a 'square peg/round hole' situation, it is not uncommon for me to feel this way. tiny tool solves that problem because it can drive bits up to 1/4" in diameter or sockets of the same diameter. Additionally, I would like to point out that. As soon as the bit is snapped into the tool, it is held firmly in place. There are some other drivers I have that do not retain any data after a certain period. But you will have to rely on luck to keep the bits from falling In general, it always seems to be at the worst time. It is also very nice to have the knurled wheels on both ends that allow you to turn it with a thumb or finger. Last but not least, applying pressure directly to the back of a bit/socket can help to keep the tool centered and well engaged with a nut or screw head. This tool is very well made and I'm sure it will find many uses in my toolbox. A second one of these will soon be on its way. You may also include more than one.
