Questions & Answers

It will be hard to remove my socket because it's stuck in a hard place This is a tough area to reach. Do these extensions let you attach them without having to simultaneously pull back on the locking collar as well?

The no worked just fine.

What kind of storage tray did they come in?

The answer is yes. There was a black plastic tray included with them. I find this tray to be pretty sturdy

There's no small locking set screw on these like some other brands do. But there is an internal spring that will hold it tight like Snap-On. Is it possible to have?

I do not see any screws on any of the springs

I want to warranty the product. What should I do? Broken the extension by six inches. ?

Every one of mine is broken after 10 to 20 times of use, so please do not ask for a warranty.

Locking pins are not to be trusted
5/5

My purpose for purchasing these extensions is to use them Several months ago, these extensions worked well I particularly liked locking my spark plug socket onto the extension since this allowed me to pull the socket out of or off the plug without getting it stuck. However, after maintaining my vehicle for some time, I would have to replace the plug socket My extension broke when I pulled the plug out and the locking mechanism broke while I was changing plugs. A pin on the locking extension fell down into the cylinder head and rested on top of it. You know what a problem this is if you're a mechanic. Luckily, I was able to remove the pin without damaging any engines when I used these extensions. If you decide to use these extensions in this fashion, make sure you check your tool for issues before performing any tasks I just thought you should know.

These are great to change your spark plugs
5/5

If your vehicles are like mine, your spark plugs are buried deep underground. Because of the magnetic or rubber connection, the spark plugs need to be changed every so often Lockable) extension bar is weak in the ball-end What's the use of spring when we have summer? it when you pull back on the locking bar. I love it! The fact that they're impact friendly is an added bonus (I'm already using 1/2" impact sockets, but can I buy 1/2" extensions as well) My magnetic spark plug socket was already a 3/8" drive, so I used my 3/8" drive as I didn't have any 3/8" extensions, plus the three lengths of the drive make it more convenient.

I am happy to have this tool as part of my growing toolkit It is not It is a collection of boxes.

Buying isn't a wise investment
3/5

There is more About a third or fourth time using it, the locking mechanism for the 6 inch frame broke. I had the locking extensions for a few months since I only used them on specific jobs. After the warranty expired, the warranty was void. If you want the best tools, you need to put your money aside and buy a better brand. Apparently gearwrench has other line of tools on Amazon. Low quality at a much lower price. The manufacturer does not guarantee the quality of this product.

An issue with the release pin has occurred
3/5

It has not been a problem with socket retention for me. No problems with sockets staying connected to the extension. One problem with these extensions is they have a rubber ring that holds the release pin in place during the sliding release mechanism. Initially I thought the grip was just there to keep hands dry when they become oily or slippery, but the only thing holding the release pin in place is it. As a result of some light wear here and there, the rubber wore off, the pin broke, and it There is a pick on the extension that I need to remove so that I can install a socket. As with the socket, the release mechanism is severely flawed, but the socket won't come off while in use. The products are not suitable for people working in the field, but are fine for people doing minor repairs at home.

They work well while they are on the job
3/5

By means of a rubber gasket, the locking pin is held in place. Keep brake clean away from them, and be careful not to expose them to oil for too As the band gets flimsier and falls off, it will.

For pros, the lower price is not worth it
3/5

My shoes broke in April 2021, after I bought them in March 2021. The product I guess isn't made for use. Throwing away $33 is not a wise decision. Seeing as I cannot afford to wait for the warranty turn around time, I won't get a warranty on it. Now let's get started! If I can ensure this kind of tool doesn't break in the middle of the big job, I am willing to pay a little more. I didn't like it on first use, at least. I enjoy gearwrench overall, just not this particular It's my mistake.

This product hasn't held up

I thought the GearWrench name would be a safe purchase, but the locking mechanism broke off after only a few It would have been better for me to listen to other reviews at the time, but I hoped to be.
