Despite their new appearance, these ratchets are not new and should not be sold as such
3/5

After reading some reviews on the condition of these tools, I was a bit hesitant. It was stated before that the ratchets I received were heavily scratched and damaged. exchanged it for the second one, and it was actually worse than the first set. It might be functionally ok, but when you pay so much for a new tool, you don't want to be the one to scratch In the end, I decided not to open the sets, and returned them both. The same set is also available at Walmart for a few dollars more, delivered within two As a result, I would recommend anyone interested in this product to find a different supplier.

The Technition review is professional in nature
5/5

My usual review style is not to write reviews, but in this case I thought it would be nice to pay it forward. The technical experience that I have is that I'm a technician for a local marina and a mechanic for one of the armed forces. For a few months now, I have been using these products and I have been satisfied with the quality. There are no grinding or clanking noises from the gears. It's been a while since I used a snap-on 3/8 and 1/4 drive set, so I switched to this one. As far as we can tell, they are indestructible. All of these things have stood up to my high stress levels over the years. For me, this is the first time I have purchased gear wrench tools, but I am excited to try out more of their tools, especially since they are so It is the perfect set for those who are into DIY projects or who are professionals. Your purchase will not be regrettable, I personally do not regret mine. Upon any changes to the review, I will update it.

We've awarded two stars to this movie

ratchet is great, but the 1/4 ratchet is a real crock and it started sticking almost immediately after use. You can save on money if you buy the big one rather than the combo kit.

Therefore, I am happy with this purchase
5/5

This is what I've been using since a couple of weeks ago It's been well over a half year since I've experienced them professionally (technical school 3 or 4 days a week usually). That provides me with enough experience to address their shortcomings. There have been no wear issues so far, but it hasn't been for a long period so I'd still consider it as 'no obvious issues' at the moment. As for the flex head, I like the detent support, yeah it's not as 'infinitely' adjustable, but it's probably less likely to get sloppy overtime, and truthfully the increments it has are going to cover 99% of use cases. This opens it in such a way that it holds the angle very well. Personally, I much prefer it. It seems like one guy claimed it was impossible to move easily while working, but frankly, he must have the most weak-fingered fingers known to mankind, the engagement is positive, but not heavy, and moving it between the positions is trivial while they are connected by a bolt. However, rubber tends to collect dirt and grime, and is obviously less durable than chrome. Rubber grips better and is less slippery, but it gets dirty and slips less. Though I prefer the rubber overall, I still think I prefer the rubber. The one in question has a nice shape and seems to have been able to withstand several different types of liquids as well as the routine wear and tear so far. Both of the ratchets in this set is pretty long, the 3/8th in particular, which can be good or bad depending on the task. On one hand, the 3/8th is big enough to sometimes obstruct the process, but it also gives you plenty Though, if it were going to be like one of your 3/8th ratchets I would look at something that is less than a foot long. As for the 1/4th, it is a bit longer than average too, but less so, and in this case I primarily find it a advantage, as a few 1/4th are so stubby that I sometimes have difficulty getting much leverage on them in awkward positions.

It was a wobbly experience
3/5

Although it does the job, I must admit that a 1/2" GearWrench ratchet is not one of my favorite tools. It is not the ratchet that I am keeping, it is the two other items I am returning. At least for me, the main reason I wasn't happy with these ratchets was that they don't seem well balanced overall. Having the head too heavy, the handle feeling more like hard plastic than rubber, and the handle being too thin and not as comfortable to grip is annoying. Basically, the overall impression I get is one of instability, which is very hard to describe, which makes me feel like not using However, what I dislike most about them (including the 1/2" that I kept) is the flex head mechanism, which uses rather large increments between consecutive adjustments and feels very unstable when operated at an angle - even though they function as designed - so I chose to discard them. You have to switch from one position to another as you tighten, which makes the whole thing somewhat unsteady. Some may be shocked to learn that I find the Harbor Freight ones to suit my preferences better, though they are easy to accidentally flip, and they have just 72 buttons. I still consider them to be my favourite Ratchets have always been a favorite of mine, and I'm sure I'll have to eat my words one day when I need an extra tight space and don't have a 120 click ratchet on hand.

Ratchets that are dependent on each other
5/5

The ratchets have been put through intensive testing since I purchased this set in 2019. I spend a half day on Saturday putting them through their paces as well. Whether it's a cooling job on a 04' Honda Civic where the expansion valve was replaced, or an AC job on a 06' Ford F150 that has five-speed transmission. Replaces the timing chain and oil pump on the 4 Triton. With the 120 tooth ratchet head, I am able to tighten nuts and bolts with greater ease in confined areas, and the flex head adds to the convenience. In addition to having a longer handle, these ratchets provide me with an extra amount of braking torque to handle any stubborn bolt I may encounter while working on my brakes. It is surprising how well these Gearwrench ratchets work. Since I've been a mechanic for more than 20 years, I've used Snap On most of the time, but the price and quality of Gearwrench have me switching to that brand.

Gearwrench is just too good to be true
5/5

Since everything is made overseas, there is no need to import. produces quality products and is usually ahead of the rest of the industry in terms of After they started creating them and then launched the 120XP, the Flex Head became extremely popular. It was something I bought a few years ago and then a bunch of tool truck loyalists went out and bought it. The same warranty applies as it would with anything else, except you can make a claim with a retailer! It's not necessary to hunt for a stupid There is a lot of smoothness from the 120. You'll never want to use a rigid head again. At first, you need about a day to get used to it. It is well worth it to buy them. The experience made me loyal to the gearwrench.
