The quality of Craftsman has declined since its early days as an affordable brand. Several years ago I bought a set similar to this one, all manufactured in the United States. The only guarantee you will ever need. It's BS to tell you a tool will be covered by a lifetime warranty, no matter how often I broke one, they would replace it no matter what. It sounds as though the Lifetime Warranty only applies the first time the tool is broken. As I move on to other brands that still manufacture in the US, I'm checking out their products.
The CRAFTSMAN'S set includes a set of deep sockets that range from 9/16 to 3/16 and 3/8 to 13/16 as well as 12 to 19 inches in standard measurement. Within a week after I bought this here because it was cheaper than the store, Sears had a sale where it was $50 cheaper. I've had a lot of different tool sets over the years and this one was just as convenient because you have almost everything you need in one spot. I added a few other items, such as large combo wrenches, to it. The worst part, the reason for the 3 stars, is the fact that certain items appear in multiples. There are like five #2 Phillips head screwdriver tips, several of the same size sockets and other things on the list that I didn't look at that closely. Additionally, there are four or five deep well sockets that end in 1" and are 3/8" drive. Shouldn't these be 1/2" drive? The allen keys are in bags separated by metric and standard. I prefer them in holders so I don't have to sort through One of the biggest gripes is The socket drive hex keys in the top drawer of the car do not stay in their compartment when driving on rough roads. It's necessary for me to reorganize them every time I do it. Thanks to the fact that it's only the top drawer.
My collection of Craftsman tools and such include several cabinets, so I wanted to organize them all one in the same The product arrived way ahead of the estimated date, so I give it 4 stars. There is a 1 star rating What you see in the picture is what you got. It would be better to use a box. A drawer on the right side of the cabinet is missing one of the drawers. Please rate it 1 Star for missing one of the drawers. It is possible that the packaging, handling, and delivery of the product contributed to this defect. The tools and sockets are all included, but again, due to handling/delivery, the smaller sockets were scattered in the drawer and I had to spend a few minutes rearranging them for 1 Star inventory. The tool set seems to be a good one. The only thing I wish they had included for tools that size is a longer extension, but it's not a deal breaker. I now own a few 1/2 inch drive tools. AS PART OF THE SET, A REPLACEMENT DOOR IS A MUST. As shown and using the price of the set, it should have been included. Photos of the unboxing can be found in the attachments. A higher rating would have been achieved without any of the above happening.
A part of the set was missing when I received it. It is not recommended to order it.
However, you will be able to see that in the picture before you buy. Generally, I disagree with the quality of the tool because it is no longer better than any other. My kids walked away with it before they grew up and moved out, so I purchased it to replace them. Craftsman tools made in China can be distinguished from more old-fashioned tools that are made in the United States. Despite the nice bag, this plastic case is extremely heavy for a bag made of plastic.
An extensive amount of damage was done to the product case. A rip has been made in the lock on the right side. On the top, there are scratches. A socket and ratchet are missing out of the drawer at the bottom. The two I bought, one for my truck and one for my shop, arrived today. It is a complete waste of money because the set is incomplete and the box is damaged to the point that the trays cannot be stored. It would have been nice to have a better experience with Amazon.
I also received 2 4 14mm sockets instead of a 5 after I took out all the useless bits and duplicate tools. I had 227 usable tools left after all the useless bits and duplicate tools were removed. A 5mm thick. As for the ratchet, it has plenty of slop in the gear and pawl, and is better than average at best. Though they lack any aesthetically pleasing elements, they do feel better in the hand compared to the older ratchets, only time will tell if they last as long as the old ones.
You get a lot of tools for what you pay. Although you will need additional tools like pliers, this is a good place to start when building your collection of tools.
The third-party Sears website was used to purchase the product and it arrived sooner than expected Everything in the case arrived in good condition my only complaint is that some sockets and bits were out of their slots, perhaps as a result of rough handling of the package, which was not apparent from visual inspection. All of the drawers are well organized and very well presented, and they can be shifted between the three levels as you please. I do indeed have slots for sockets and whatnot, but they do not lock into place while they are in the drawer, which can cause sockets to wiggle out of their places if handled rough. As for the toolbox itself, it is made of durable plastic, not unlike the type of plastic found in some nice ice chests. There is no doubt that our pieces are better than lesser basic brands, as you can see and feel the quality firsthand. Comparative to Harbor Freight tools of similar nature, each ratchet has an exceptionally durable feel, and the ratcheting mechanism feels strong and well built. You need this if you're a mechanic or a serious do it yourselfer. This tool kit is almost everything you could possibly need to perform repairs on a vehicle or an aircraft, except for special tools like snap ring pliers Among these items are ring pliers, vice grips, and brake piston compressors.
