Each arm of the spanner wrench is 5" long, and the spanner wrench is 7 4/4" long. The wrench can be opened to a maximum of 7" in diameter. A 1/4" and a 5/16' stainless pin are included in each leg. To open deck plates and sea strainers, the wrench is most commonly used. It's what I use to get my pool filter's strainer housing open. The Groco component is SW- 2531
It should fit the cap, as far as I'm aware, as long as the small holes for the wrench are present.

The holes in the deck plates and strainers on the raw water system are all different widths, so a standard key won't work. In addition, the wrench's length provides more torque than a key. When we bought our Hans Christian sailboat, it already had one on board, but we found it easier to keep one on deck for the deckplates and one below for the strainers. Plus, if one goes missing, we'll have a back-up! Great tool made of bronze that has been sold.
This is a high-quality adjustable tool that has saved me a lot of time and aggravation. It fits all of the different caps on the fuel, water, and other difficult-to-open tank fills on my sailboat. If you ever drop it, I recommend getting a floating device to keep it from sinking.
This is a good product, it's heavy, and it'll help you get a better grip on those stubborn deck fittings. To keep it from being lost overboard, attach a lanyard to it.

It should not be excessively large. It shouldn't be too tiny. Made of bronze with two sizes of stainless steel pins to fit most pleasure craft deck plates.
After a minute, it bent and after three minutes, it broke in half. Nobody is capable of producing high-quality tools these days.

For my raw water strainer, it's a great spanner. It is a perfect fit.
